1 Accounting policies
Basis of preparation
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with FRS 102, The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (as applied to small entities by section 1A of the standard).
Turnover
Income represents flat and estate service charges received from the residents including amounts transferred to the Sinking Fund.
Freehold
During the year ended 31 May 2005 Lattiford Management Company Ltd acquired the freehold of the apartments and common areas at Lattiford Estate from the developer at no cost. The apartments are held on 999year leases by the directors of Lattiford House and Court (Management) Ltd. In view of the length of these leases it is considered that the current value of the freehold is negligible. On 15 September 2006 this freehold was transferred to Lattiford House and Court (Management) Ltd at nil consideration.
