During the first financial year, UK Yoga CIC delivered its first community project, focused on supporting schools in the Rossendale area. This project aimed to equip teachers with practical tools and techniques to help pupils connect with themselves and the natural world through breathwork, movement, and mindfulness. By providing training and resources for staff, we helped schools create calmer, more emotionally aware learning environments that promote well-being, self regulation, and resilience in young people. Although this was our first year of operation, the project demonstrated meaningful community benefit by empowering educators and enhancing mental health support within local schools.
In our first year of operation, stakeholder consultation was primarily internal. The directors met regularly to plan and review activities, ensuring alignment with our community benefit objectives. These meetings allowed us to reflect on the initial project's delivery and impact, and to shape our future approach based on shared insight and experience. As this was our first project, we did not carry out formal external stakeholder consultation during the reporting period. However, we plan to build this into future projects by collecting feedback from schools, educators, and participants to ensure our work continues to meet community needs.
A portion of the £5,000 project funding was paid to Gaynor Gallagher, a director of the CIC, in her capacity as a sole trader for delivering services related to the project. This was not director remuneration but payment for services rendered, and it has been accounted in the company's financial records. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director's loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
