ZamZam Unlimited Possibilities CIC continued to deliver significant positive impact within the Beaumont Leys community of Leicester throughout the 2024 2025 financial year with a core mission of youth empowerment with a particular focus on supporting girls in sports and promoting mental health and wellbeing for young people and the wider community. Key activities and achievements included Supporting 100 girls aged 20through our weekly Chill and Chat Girls Corner a safe welcoming drop in space offering mentoring activities and peer support. Engaging over 800 young people through our Afterschool Youth Club, delivered in partnership with Babington Academy promoting creative physical and personal development. Upskilling 20 young people through our annual Youth Leadership Programme, equipping participants with transferable skills and confidence for future opportunities. Supporting over 200 local residents including parents and young adults aged 18 through our Neighborhood Mental Health Cafe based in Beaumont Leys a new inclusive service added this year to meet growing mental health needs in the wider community. Hosting the Made in Africa Festival, a vibrant 7 day celebration of African heritage and culture, attended by approximately 1,300 people across Leicester. Attending five Parents Evenings at Barley Croft Primary School and Wolsey House Primary School to connect with local families and share resources and opportunities for engagement. Beginning important work to explore the uptake of childhood immunisations in the local area, in collaboration with Leicester City Council Public Health Team and the NHS. This year, we also established new and meaningful partnerships with StreetGames, Active Together, Leicester City Council Public Health Team, The Curator Educator, Beaumont Leys Shopping Centre, Leicestershire Police, Wolsey House Primary School, and De Montfort University, which have all contributed to expanding our reach and increasing our ability to meet the evolving needs of the community.
ZamZam Unlimited Possibilities CIC recognises the importance of engaging directly with our stakeholders to shape the delivery and design of our services. Our key stakeholders include young people, parents and carers, local schools, partner organisations, and the wider Beaumont Leys community. Throughout the year, we have used a mix of informal and structured methods to gather feedback and understand the evolving needs of the community: - Informal feedback during sessions was collected through conversations and observations, with notes sometimes recorded using flipcharts. - We conducted a survey during our Made in Africa Festival, allowing us to gather wider community perspectives. - We also used video feedback from young people during our afterschool club sessions to capture their views in their own words. This consultation led directly to several service adjustments: - We extended our Chill & Chat Girls Corner programme to run across two days, tailoring sessions to different age groups and responding to the specific needs of younger girls. - Based on consistent feedback from participants, we discontinued delivery at the John Lewis Community Room, instead integrating that group into the Beaumont Leys sessions to ensure a more cohesive, supported and familiar environment for the girls. Stakeholder feedback continues to guide our approach, helping us to remain responsive and inclusive in our delivery.
