COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

LONDON SKILLS CENTRE CIC

Company Number: 13518380 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 July 2024

Company activities and impact

The company has benefited individuals who are not in Education, Employment or Training by providing free training in Employability Skills, ESOL, IT skills, and Functional Skills. These services help beneficiaries close qualification gaps and improve their access to the labour market. Although we made several grant applications during the year, we were unfortunately not successful in securing new grant funding. However, we were able to increase our income through regular donations and by delivering services to other businesses. This allowed us to maintain and grow our financial stability. With these resources, we continued to deliver impactful community services including free training and career support workshops on financial management, tackling the cost-of-living crisis, and courses in ESOL, IT skills, and functional skills. These initiatives supported disadvantaged individuals, especially those from BAME backgrounds, to build confidence, enhance employability, and contribute more actively to society.

Consultation with stakeholders

Company directors and shareholders have been involved in all major decisions and activities. The directors conducted ongoing needs analysis by consulting stakeholders, including young people, unemployed adults, and families from disadvantaged and BAME backgrounds, as well as local authorities, job centres, and other community organisations. Stakeholder feedback has directly influenced our programme design and delivery, ensuring that our training and support services remain relevant, accessible, and responsive to the evolving needs of the community.
