Year Ending: 24 August 2024

Company activities and impact

Over the period of 24th August 2023 to 23rd August 2024, SEND Yogis CIC continued to deliver the vast majority of the activities as described in the CIC37 Form submitted upon incorporation. These include (but are not limited to): - Delivery of Timetabled Specialist Yoga Classes: primarily Kid’s Yoga Class and Chair Yoga Class with attendees seeing benefits from these classes through the fact that they offer access to a regular session of specialist yoga which can be dipped in and out of week-by-week in accordance with what works for the individual, at a cost far less than that of a 1:1 session. Through attending a class, the individuals noted a collective sense of belonging and community, with ‘regulars’ growing in confidence in themselves and their practise. It also provides the social opportunity to meet like-minded individuals and form positive relationships, bringing with it the recognition that the individual’s situation/condition is a shared experience with others. - Delivery of Practical Specialist Yoga-related Services: 1:1 sessions, Yogic Coaching sessions, and School Group sessions with attendees seeing benefits from these services through the fact that they offer access to regular sessions of specialist yoga which are at a day and time suitable to the individual and are tailored to meet their specific needs not only in terms of supporting their neurodiversity/disability but also their fluctuating daily needs that come with this. Through receiving these services, the individuals noted many positive benefits, such as growth in confidence in themselves and their practise through its tailored nature. It also provides the opportunity to form a positive relationship between the practitioner and the person receiving the service, bringing with it the recognition that the individual and their situation/condition is seen, heard, and supported by others. Alongside private clients, SEND Yogis CIC delivered these sessions throughout the Autumn Term of 2023 to SEND pupils through lunchtime clubs, funded via the schools by the Open Facilities Fund. - Delivery of regular, scheduled ‘Community Socials’, with these taking place Half-Termly following Chair Yoga Class. This offers the chance for members of SEND Yogis CIC's Community to be with like-minded individuals in a relaxed and informal way and form positive relationships, bringing with it the recognition that the individual’s situation/condition is a shared experience with others. For the older community, this has also aided in combatting and reducing loneliness and creating a sense of belonging within the group.
