Help Good Grow identifies local community needs and potential community activities within socially and economically disadvantaged areas that can make positive differences, lasting impact and build greater community capacity. Potential community projects are identified and established through proactive engagement and collaboration with existing community groups, faith groups, individuals, local councils, youth groups, residents’ associations, charities and local business connections. This enables us to identify social, economic, cultural, and environmental challenges that exist in communities and create opportunities for social interaction, positive improvements and sustained change. We collaborate with multiple stakeholders to establish the need, availability of funding, agree the best approach and organise support through the provision of resources and volunteers. Our aim is to encourage people in a community to join with others so as to provide through collective effort, what the community needs, but in such a way that those taking part also develop their own potential as active members of society. Our projects have shown that coordinated acts of kindness and positive activities can not only make significant visible, physical improvements within communities but also help improve individual psychological and physical well-being. We provide connections, create and develop opportunities for involvement in positive acts of kindness and good deeds that can contribute to a better and more positive community to help good intentions and good causes, grow and assist in the advancement of good citizenship and community development. We provide opportunities for people to experience the benefits of practical involvement in positive activities – opportunities that would not otherwise be available to them and involving people in collective effort so that they gain confidence in their own abilities and their ability to influence decisions that affect them.
We promote opportunities that allow any individuals or groups to contribute to their community; anyone who wants to get involved and make a positive impact through participating individuals, groups or clubs, schools or college students, currently in and around Rugby). We encourage members of the community to get involved often through existing connections such as local, influential and prominent individuals in the community, community groups, youth clubs and active media and social media platforms (such as radio, newspapers, and the “mainstream social platforms” - Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok) by communicating the various project benefits (greater social interaction and cohesion, improvements to the built and natural environment and helping to address social isolation by getting people involved. Help Good Grow is currently based in Rugby, Warwickshire. All of our projects to date have been in Rugby. We have ambitions to expand our scope as we identify links and similar social and environmental challenges in other neighbouring areas while growing our “community of volunteers” and public following. Beneficiaries of our projects and activities are residents, families, elderly, people with disabilities, people that may be suffering from loneliness or isolation, community groups. Helping to improve their wellbeing through improving good citizenship, access to positive and inclusive activities, introductions and interest and involvement in new skills that support social interaction.
