The company continued to work alongside Sandown Primary School and the wider North East Hastings Community to provide opportunities for outdoor engagement providing services within three key areas: Outdoor Education, permaculture and outdoor learning education to children of Sandown Primary School and Nursery school in Hastings, East Sussex, UK, getting children outside and into nature, benefiting them with reduced stress, improved self-confidence and practical transferable skills. After school clubs, allowing parents to lengthen their working day and providing the children with a fun and educational provision, increasing their self-confidence, self-awareness and reducing stress levels. Community engagement activities, working with parents and local volunteer groups to create and enhance spaces that can be enjoyed by everyone. Undertaking the Living Lunchbox project. This is a scheme teaching children of the benefits and practicalities of sewing, growing and harvesting their own fruit and vegetables.
The company’s stakeholders included: Individual parents and carers of children undertaking activities. These are well received and communicated via class dojo and in person. Teachers and other staff members of the school are continuously consulted on the running of sessions. Individual parents/carers of children and school staff. Direct consultation with parents has resulted in a number of glowing reviews about children who never played outside now becoming much more confident with the outdoors. Our clubs are always oversubscribed.
