COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

PROJECTFIVEK CIC

Company Number: 12828137 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 August 2024

Company activities and impact

Projectfivek was established in December 2020 as a Community interest Company (CIC). The Company provides practical and on-going support for families who face day to day financial challenges with the assistance of supermarket vouchers, meal kits and essential hygiene packages. During the last financial year, the Company has been working with five schools in the local community. Projectfivek responded to the financial challenges faced by some of the families who were struggling due to high rise of food and energy costs and the subsequent cost of living crisis. The company was able to help 150 families in the five schools with supermarket food vouchers. The food vouchers have provided a vital practical support for the families who are facing increased energy and food costs. The vouchers have been a lifeline to the families and has meant they have food to eat at a time when money has been especially short. This in turn has had a positive impact on the children who attend the schools concerned and enables them to focus on learning. Teachers have reported that the children of the families the company has supported, have shown improved attendance and learning.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders are the schools, families, local council, and interfaith organisations. During the year, the schools and the families were asked to complete surveys to give us feedback on the food vouchers. The feedback from the survey was that the vouchers gave families flexibility to shop according to preferences, the vouchers had made a real difference to the families struggling to put food on the table. The vouchers also helped families to make their limited finances stretch to buy the extra e.g. clothes, treats etc for their children.
