Over the past year Community Active Stockport CIC have delivered a number of community projects to support those less likely to engage in physical activity to be more active: Delivered a number of projects at Marple Sports Club including Women in Squash, Young people's squash, Men's Mental Health squash project. These projects have seen an increase in activity and in positive mental wellbeing, and a decrease in isolation. Worked with social enterprises across Stockport to support collaborative working and supporting shared goals in reducing isolation and increasing physical and mental wellbeing. This shared way of working has increased reach and connection with those most in need across the borough.
At all stages of projects from conception through to evaluation Community Active Stockport engages with stakeholders by a number of methods including face to face and online engagement. This is often informal to encourage conversation and valuable insight. In addition the organisation has regularly connected with other like minded organisations and stakeholders from the Stockport Social Enterprise sector through programmes like Build an Business and Proper Good. This has been via workshops, consultations, WhatsApp groups and formal networking opportunities.
