COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

BEE INCLUSIVE CIC

Company Number: 12164262 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 August 2024

Company activities and impact

Bee Inclusive is the leaseholder for the ‘Bury SEND Hub’, a community centre, specially adapted for disabled families. In the year 23/24 the activities recorded are inline with Bee Inclusive CIC continuing to maintain the building and running activities for children with SEND. We received and/or continued to support our families with the following grants: - Bury’s ‘Let’s Do It - Community Fund’ - National Lottery - Duchy Of Lancaster - Alpkits - Local Giving ‘Magic Little Grants’ - Boshier-Hinton Foundation - VCFA Community Investment Fund Through these grants we funded the following: - Remuneration for our volunteers - Resources and equipment - Refreshments - Administration support - Provided Early Years social opportunities - Provided social opportunities to our families. Bee Inclusive continued with the following ventures: - SEND hairdressing service facilitated by a trained hairdresser. - Sensory room and Party hire within the SEND community. - Collaboration for a fortnightly Early Years session with Bury’s SEND Health visitor and Portage team. - Providing space for a weekly sing and sign choir group session for SEND children and their families. - Providing space for a young person's music session (aged 18 plus). Please note, that the activities listed above are those whose payments directly relate to our accounts for the period. Our activities have benefited the SEND families in Bury by: - Reducing isolation. - Providing opportunities for the children to make friendships. - Providing opportunities for parent/carers to make friendships. - Providing volunteering opportunities to parent/carers. - Giving children the opportunity to try activities that may have been inaccessible to them before, through exclusive sessions. Meaning that numbers of children on an activity may be reduced, noise levels may be reduced, specialist equipment may be provided and sessions are ‘judgement free’ with only SEND families attending. - Signposting to various services has been achieved.

Consultation with stakeholders

Bee Inclusive CIC’s stakeholders are children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (aged 0-17), and their families. Bee Inclusive collates feedback via online surveys, social media and contact through our website. We then use this information to adjust activities accordingly. We also receive feedback verbally from events and also via our emails. We continually adjust our provision, in accordance with user feedback. Feedback from families has affected our offer as such: - Sibling places. We offer a small percentage of sibling places on our events to ensure that the whole family can attend and that family dynamics do not restrict SEND children from accessing our offer. - Exclusive sessions. We ensure that the sessions we provide and book are exclusive to SEND families only, to ensure families feel safe and comfortable. - Complex Care sessions. Where we can make it possible, we always aim to provide specific sessions to cater for families whose children and young people have complex care needs. - We have continued to advocate for our families regarding statutory service provision such as HAF and Universal Short Breaks Provision. We have continued to improve our feedback mechanisms.
