Broad Bikez has supported women and LGBTQI+ individuals to be more confident in cycling and learn to maintain their bikes by providing maintenance classes and led rides in a safe and inclusive environment. The company has been operating since August 2021, in the financial period August 2023-August 2024 it has benefited the community by: - running 3 basics of bike maintenance workshops, supporting 13 participants to learn how to maintain their bikes to be safer on the road and save them money -running 6 free 1:1 sessions with bike riders who have specific issues they needed support with -provided space for female/queer mechanics to gain paid experience in delivering maintenance classes to other people -offered advice and support to members of our communities and strengthened networks with other groups or CICs working in a similar remit
Stakeholders include female and LGBTQI+ bike riders and mechanics. We have collected feedback forms from attendees of our workshops to ensure we are working with our target audience and understand how to improve our services to this community. We sent around a survey to gain feedback on future activities and what our stakeholders would like to see more of as we prepared for expansion which began in April 2025. We also surveyed customers of a nearby bike shop to see what services they would like to be offered as members of the local community (but who are not necessarily our core audience).
No remuneration was received
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
