The Company continued to trade from a mobile catering unit during the early Autumn of 2023 before finishing for the season. Occasional community events were also supported, such as Carols in the Park in December. The permanent Cafe building in Shorts Road Park was completed in February 2024 - the Company commenced trading from this location on 21st March 2024. Since opening, the Cafe has provided a friendly and welcoming place for the Community to gather to enjoy good quality food and drink at affordable prices. Volunteering opportunities have been provided for over 40 adults and the cafe has employed three people living in the Community, two of whom are adults with additional learning needs. The Company has now started partnering with local organisations to facilitate the following -A regular bicycle maintenance workshop -A bicycle security marking service with the local police -A D-day commemoration event.
The Company’s stakeholders are primarily the residents and community visitors in the villages of Fair Oak and Horton Heath. Other stakeholders include organisations such as the Parish Council, St Thomas Church and the Fair Oak Community library. The Fountain Cafe run a Facebook page which provides general information, such as opening times, to the public.
