Principal activities of the company

During the financial year, the principal activity of Holy Trinity Romanian Church C.I.C. has been to serve the Romanian community in Newcastle upon Tyne and the surrounding areas by providing spiritual guidance, pastoral care, and a broad range of community services aimed at fostering social inclusion, personal development, and overall wellbeing. The company has continued to organise regular worship services and religious celebrations that not only provide spiritual nourishment but also help preserve cultural identity and strengthen intergenerational bonds within the Romanian diaspora. In addition to our core spiritual work, we have delivered a variety of community-based initiatives designed to address the practical and emotional needs of our members. Key activities have included: Sunday school classes for children, which focus on moral education, biblical literacy, Romanian language, and cultural heritage; A women’s support group, offering emotional support, friendship, and practical advice in areas such as parenting, relationships, and personal wellbeing; Youth clubs and mentoring sessions, providing a safe and positive space for young people to engage in discussions, recreational activities, and spiritual growth; Mental health and wellbeing events, such as seminars, group discussions, and guest speaker sessions, aimed at reducing isolation and encouraging open conversations around mental health; Community outreach and charity drives, including support for Romanian families in crisis, help with translation and integration into UK society, and food/clothing donations; Seasonal cultural and religious events, such as Christmas and Easter celebrations, national holiday gatherings, and family picnics, which promote community cohesion and inclusion; Volunteer training and leadership development, empowering members of the community to become active contributors to church and civic life. These activities directly support the company’s community interest objectives and reflect our ongoing commitment to building a spiritually enriched, supportive, and engaged Romanian community in the North East of England.

During the financial year, Holy Trinity Romanian Church C.I.C. has continued to provide spiritual and community support to members of the Romanian community in Newcastle upon Tyne and the surrounding areas. We have also run a number of community initiatives, including: Sunday school classes for children, focused on moral development, cultural identity, and spiritual education; A women’s support group, offering emotional support, friendship, and empowerment through regular meetings and workshops; Youth clubs and wellbeing events, promoting mental health, positive relationships, and community engagement among younger members; Seasonal and cultural events, which help strengthen intergenerational ties and preserve Romanian cultural heritage. Through these activities, the company has made a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families, encouraging community cohesion and holistic wellbeing across all age groups.

Consultation with stakeholders

The stakeholders of Holy Trinity Romanian Church C.I.C. include church members, local Romanian families, community volunteers, and youth and women participating in our support programmes. We maintain regular, open communication with our stakeholders through a variety of channels, including: Weekly community gatherings and church services; Informal discussions before and after services; Feedback received during Sunday school and youth club sessions; Periodic women’s group meetings; WhatsApp and Facebook community groups. Stakeholders have shared feedback and suggestions related to spiritual needs, community event preferences, and mental wellbeing support. As a result of this consultation, we have: Introduced additional activities for young people focused on wellbeing and identity; Organised specific sessions for women on managing stress and supporting family life; Adapted our community schedule to better suit working families, including later evening events. This ongoing consultation helps ensure that our services remain relevant, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of the Romanian community in Newcastle and surrounding areas.
