COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

BRIGHT SPARKS SCIENCE C.I.C.

Company Number: 07872662 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 August 2024

Company activities and impact

During the financial year 2023-2024 the company engaged with children in the local area by providing science free assemblies to over 50 participating primary schools. This year, 859 children actively took part in the educational science after school programme, enhancing their learning at a low cost to parents. This is a fewer than a couple of years ago as we are seeing the knock-on effect of the cost of living crisis and have been offering, like last year, more free spaces to schools to give to children that meet their criteria for help with costs. Bright Sparks continued to support the home education community by offering regular science workshops to several local groups to supplement their syllabus and help to cover aspects of the national curriculum they struggle with. And we were able to give students valuable work experience. We received money from the Didcot power house fund which went towards providing STEM career workshops for year 6 pupils and this was delivered to 7 schools

Consultation with stakeholders

The business works closely with local charities, and community groups and council run organisations to work out a strategy to reach wider audiences. This has included putting together a programme of events in low income areas and offer free events for the communities.

Directors' remuneration

£17,303 was paid to the director

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
