Company activities and impact The Company has been able to work with and support people suffering from mental health and social exclusion by continuing to pilot and deliver music therapy programmes to adults and young people struggling with complex mental health issues as well as a delivering a new wellbeing programme for staff within the NHS. Emphasis has been given to co production, co creation, co design and co dissemination to highlight the value of working with and supporting client’s needs through OM’s developing peer support communities and networks.
Consultation with stakeholders This will be the 7th year that the CREW project will be delivered to Galaxy House at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Outsider Music has not yet managed to secure funding to take the learning and feedback from the successful work delivered over 6 years at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital at Galaxy House into community settings in Greater Manchester. However this year we are planning to access funding with 42nd st and collaborate with Nordoff and Robbins in Manchester. OM has secured funding in London with NHS Brookside and Castlehaven community centre in Camden. This places a strong emphasis on co-production and co-design throughout both the establishment and implementation phases. This commitment is underscored by greater involvement of young people in shaping the programme's structure and delivery. The success of the OPEN MINDS patient and staff programmes delivered in 2023 has led to wider promotion in the NHS. OM is part of the new NHS Staff and Wellbeing Roadshows to highlight the importance of offering support to staff. Evaluations and feedback reports relating to OM’S work has begun to generate interest in academic institutions with the delivery of regular presentations by OM to students at Bristol University. OM’S achievements have continued to build OM’s presence as a valuable provider in the NHS and the mental health community, turning OMCIC into a growing, sustainable and reputable innovative provider of therapy and support to clients suffering from complex mental health issues. This year we are planning to work with a new organisation called MATH who help CIC’S to secure corporate sponsorship.
