| Basis of preparing the financial statements |
| The financial statements are prepared on the going concern basis. |
| The company's functional and presentational currency is in sterling (£). |
| Turnover |
| Turnover represents rent receivable and other recharges in respect of the investment property. Rent receivable is recognised on a straight line basis over the period, after taking into account any incentives offered and any stepped increases in rental income, in accordance with the rental agreements. |
| Tangible fixed assets |
| A review for impairment of a fixed asset is carried out if events or changes in circumstances indicate that the carrying value of any fixed asset may not be recoverable. Shortfalls between the carrying value of fixed assets and their recoverable amounts are recognised as impairments. Impairment losses are recognised in the Income statement. |
| Tangible fixed assets are carried at cost, net of depreciation and any provision for impairment. Depreciation is provided to write off the cost or valuation, less estimated residual values, of all fixed assets over their expected useful lives. |
| Freehold property is held at deemed cost. The company took advantage of the FRS 102 transitional provisions which permitted previous revaluations of an item of property, plant and equipment to be deemed cost on transition date. |
| Debtors |
| Trade and other debtors are recognised at the settlement amount after any trade discount offered. Prepayments are valued at the amount prepaid net of any trade discounts due. |
| Cash at bank |
| Cash at bank and in hand includes cash and short term highly liquid investments with a short maturity of three months or less from the date of acquisition or opening of the deposit or similar account. |
| Creditors |
| Short term trade creditors are measured at transaction price. Other financial liabilities, including bank loans, are measured initially at fair value, net of transaction costs, and are measured subsequently at amortised cost using the effective interest method. |

| Financial instruments |
| The company only enters into basic financial instruments transactions that result in the recognition of financial assets and liabilities like trade and other debtors and creditors, loans from banks and other third parties, loans to related parties and investments in non-puttable ordinary shares. |
| Debt instruments (other than those wholly repayable or receivable within one year), including loans and other accounts receivable or payable, are initially measured at present value of the future cashflows and subsequently at amortised cost using the effective interest method. |
| Debt instruments that are payable or receivable within one year, typically trade payables or receivables, are measured initially and subsequently, at the undiscounted amount of the cash or other consideration expected to be paid or received. However if the arrangements of a short term instrument constitute a financing transaction, like the payment of a trade debt deferred beyond normal business terms or financed at a rate of interest that is not a market rate or in the case of an out-right short-term loan not at market rate, the financial asset or liability is measured, initially, at the present value of the future cash flow discounted are a market rate of interest for a similar debt instrument and subsequently at amortised cost. |
| Taxation |
| Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. |
| Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted. |
| Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date. |
| Deferred tax |
| Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date. |
| Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference. |
| Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits. |

| 4. | TANGIBLE FIXED ASSETS - continued |
| A portion of the freehold property is commercially let to a third party. The Directors have assessed the requirement for this to be separated from the tangible fixed asset component and measured at fair value at each reporting date. The Directors are of the opinion that it would be impracticable to separate the investment property portion, therefore this is not revalued annually, in accordance with FRS 102 provisions. |

| The Royal Society of Sculptors, a registered charity, is the parent undertaking and is registered in England and Wales (Registered charity no. 212513). |
| At 31 December 2024 Dora House Limited owed the Parent £1,929,964 (2022: £1,846,278). The amount due to the parent company is unsecured and represents inter-company funding. There is no fixed repayment date and no interest is charged. |
