| Basis of preparing the financial statements |
| Turnover |
| Turnover is recognised on the invoiced value of goods, net of value added tax, at the time of their supply. |
| Tangible fixed assets |
| Plant and machinery - 15% per annum on a reducing balance basis |
| Computer equipment - 15% per annum on a reducing balance basis |
| Stocks |
| Stocks are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value, after making due allowance for obsolete and slow moving items. |
| Financial instruments |
| Financial instruments are recognised when the company becomes party to the contractual provisions of the instrument. |
| Basic financial assets, which include trade and other debtors, and cash and bank balances, are initially measured at transaction price including transaction costs. |
| Financial assets are assessed for indicators of impairment at each balance sheet date, with any impairment losses being recognised in profit or loss. | Taxation |
| Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. |

| Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date. |
| Deferred tax |
| Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date. |
| Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. | An intercompany loan existed at the end of 2024. £128,256 was owed by Palette London Limited, a company partly owned by the majority shareholder of Urban Apothecary Limited. At the end of 2023 £145,000 was owed. This loan is interest free and repayable on demand. |
| A director's loan existed at the end of 2024. £29,987 was owed to the company. No balance was outstanding at the end of 2023. The loan is interest free and repayable on demand. |
