Company Number: 15137765 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 September 2024

Company activities and impact

During the financial year, the company has actively contributed to the well-being and development of the community through a diverse range of educational, cultural, sporting, and religious activities: We delivered a series of culturally enriching workshops and educational sessions aimed at increasing awareness and appreciation of different cultural heritages. These activities helped foster inclusion, mutual respect, and social cohesion, especially among young people and minority groups. The company provided targeted learning support and mentoring programs for children and adults facing educational disadvantage. This included after-school tutoring, skills development sessions, and exam preparation classes, which improved academic per-formance and boosted confidence among participants. We organised community sports events and regular physical activity sessions that promoted health and well-being. These inclusive programs encouraged active life-styles, reduced social isolation, and provided safe spaces for youth engagement. Through faith-based outreach, the company offered spiritual support, counselling, and community gatherings that nurtured moral development and emotional well-being. We also provided practical support such as food parcels and assistance for vulnerable families, particularly during times of hardship. Collectively, these initiatives strengthened community bonds, empowered individuals, and contributed positively to the social, educational, and emotional fabric of the local area.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders include service users, community members, volunteers, partner organisations, local authorities, and public sector bodies such as Southwark Council and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT). Throughout the year, FWCUK has actively engaged with its stakeholders through structured consultations, collaborative meetings, outreach activities, and feedback collected during programme delivery. In particular, we held ongoing dialogue with Southwark Council, GSTT Partnerships, the Metropolitan Police, and other community organisations to assess local needs, evaluate the impact of our services, and refine our delivery approach. As a direct result of stakeholder feedback, FWCUK implemented and delivered a wide range of impactful community-based initiatives, including: Health Promotion for Women and Girls: In partnership with GSTT and Southwark Council, we ran health awareness events and offered free Vita 5 Health Checks, pro-moting early intervention and access to essential health services. Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Training: Stakeholder concerns about mental health led us to deliver certified Mental Health First Aid and Suicide Prevention training, equipping community members with vital tools. Women and Girls Empowerment Programmes: Based on community input, we ran workshops to build confidence, leadership, and life skills. Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Awareness: In response to safety con-cerns, we hosted safe-space discussions, survivor support sessions, and community education campaigns. Community Engagement with the Metropolitan Police: We supported initiatives to strengthen community trust and accountability, especially through educational dialogue events. Cultural and Educational Events: Celebratory and educational events such as Black History Month and International Women’s Day were hosted to promote inclusion and cultural pride. Hate Crime Awareness: Outreach programmes were introduced to raise awareness of hate crime, encourage reporting, and build safer communities. Family Holiday and Outdoor Trips: These inclusive activities were designed to promote mental well-being and family bonding in response to community demand. Campaigning for Patient and Carer Equality in Mental Health Services: We actively supported the Equality Frameworks initiative, advocating for better mental health sup-port across Southwark. Borough-wide Health and Well-being Outreach: Continuous engagement across Southwark and beyond promoted healthier lifestyles and connected individuals with key resources. These initiatives directly reflect the priorities and concerns raised by our stakeholders, reinforcing our commitment to being a responsive and inclusive community organisation.
