Over the last year, Namaste Kingston has made tremendous efforts to; -Interact with various local government bodies to highlight the strength, contributions and importance of our community. -Interacted & supported various Charities to support their cause -Partnered with other Community Initiatives groups. Our team volunteered to support their various initiatives for the betterment of overall community and will continue to do so in future. Our vision is to create a vibrant and inclusive community where the richness of cultural diversity is celebrated and cherished, continually growing membership since launch. Highlights of events and initiatives so far: -Diwali Utsav in October 2024 and November 2023, attended by over 750 local residents and RBK Mayor & other key dignitaries. -Rangotsav (Holi) in March 2024, attended by over 500 local residents and RBK Mayor. -Celebrated Independence Day on 15th August with Save the World charity Financial & Wellness Awareness -Community interaction with RBK Metropolitan Police on 21st Nov 2024 -Curry night on 23rd Nov with Save the World -Diwali Celebrations at Southborough Nursing Home Our Impact: -Open and Inclusive events for all the residents across the communities & age- group over 2000 residents reached over multiple initiatives -One of the first events in the borough to Go Green -Over 40 small businesses showcased & sold their products -Encouraged entrepreneurship for the secondary school students (Water, soft drinks & Sweets stalls) -Promote volunteering within the community and support students for DoFE volunteering -We were able to support Save the World Club & Milaap Kingston
Following are our key stakeholders: 1. Namaste Kingston’s stakeholders are multicultural communities of the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames and neighbouring boroughs. 2. Local councillors and council teams responsible for the cultural integration We regularly conduct surveys and meetings with our key stakeholders. Also after each event we take our attendee feedback which are considered for future events. We conduct meeting with local councillors and attend their monthly neighbourhood surgeries to understand key challenges and identify improvement areas for the community members.
