In the space provided below, please insert a general account of the company’s activities in the financial year to which the report relates, including a description of how they have benefited the community. During the reporting period Equal Vision Merseyside has continued with a strong trajectory of growth across different facets of the organisation. We were grateful to receive core funding from John Moores Foundation which supported our move into Kuumba Imani Millenium Centre, and our first paid internship. Further grants were received from the national lottery, Torus Foundation, Central Liverpool Primary Care Network (CLPCN) and Arnold Clark. We continued to provide youth proofing support and brought on stream activities to support university engagement in communities. New resources have allowed Equal Vision to consolidate its young leaders group (YLG) which meets on a weekly basis. The YLG has worked alongside our criminal justice intern carrying out a systemic review of literature looking at the impact of crime on young people’s mental health. They have been directly involved in project management, including planning, risk assessment, participant recruitment and data collection. We have brought onboard and provide training to young people to be Active researchers who are carrying out data collection as peer researchers. Our funding from CLPCN resulted in a small scale project in which young people developed two media mini-videos to challenge hatred towards Muslim people. Two videos, one sport based and another using famous public figures, researched over 4000 people within two weeks. Equal Vision has experienced steady growth on Twitter despite its declining client base. Through the mini videos were expanded our research through other media including Tik Tok and Instagram. Equal Vision also continued to coordinate a peer support group for loved ones who are affected by somebody else comorbidity. This has involved arranging regular mutual social support meetings.
All of Equal Vision’s work involves ongoing engagement with people with lived experience of different social challenges. The stakeholders for our activities are people who have engaged in previous projects and wider members of the community who have expressed an interest in our work.
