Regen.me.uk CIC is a SEND Family Support service offering Training, Activities & Events for families in Manchester with a SEND child or Y.P. 0 – 25. We delivered 11 Training Days upskilling and empowering our Service users and assisted them to achieve better outcomes for their SEND children. We delivered 24 inclusive Activity days reducing social isolation in the SEND Community and building families confidence in universal services. We delivered 24 Advice Drop ins where parent/carers can get next step SEND Education advice. We undertook a contract with our Local Family Hub to improve their SEND Services and improve SEND family engagement in their associated services. 4 of our volunteers undertook IPSEA Training, aiding them in upskilling themselves and being able to offer specialist SEND Education next step advice. As we operate in some of Manchester’s most deprived areas, all of our services are funded from various funders and are free for our families to access. Our voluntary online peer to peer support offer currently has 3.5k members. All are Manchester based SEND families. We have expanded our Socials to include other platforms.
We consult with our families at all our events, asking for suggestions and feedback. Through our work with the Local Authority we know where gaps in SEND services exist and work in Co production with the Local Authority to address these gaps pro-actively. We have a seat on our Local Authorities SEND Board and regularly consult with our families around their needs and changes to Statutory services. We held two large engagement events with over 200 service users attending these. We run a “You said, we did” on our socials to evidence to our service users we are actively listening and responding to their needs. Every piece of work we undertake is Parent/Service user led. Our work responds to the needs of the SEND Community in Manchester. E.g. Parents wanted SEND Law & Disability Rights Training. This was arranged and delivered and a similar training course was co-produced by our Y.P. to deliver to Y.P. via local Youth Groups. Our social media peer to peer support group model gives us instant access to our families and supports us in understanding what areas our families are struggling with and how we can work to address this.
