In 2024 Aylesbury Community Pride successfully delivered Aylesbury town’s first ever LGBTQ+ Pride event. This was a large scale, festival style event that was free for the community to attend. 1,949 people experienced the event on the day engaging with entertainment stages, local food vendors and stalls. Our main goal for the event was to provide access to support services to the local community. 1,357 people accessed support service information via our community tent as well as experiencing our talk show which showcased local stories and experiences. Aylesbury Community Pride has provided education and practical work experience through its network of 36 volunteers required to deliver the festival on the day. With further plans to run a careers workshop session with younger volunteers, supporting their employability. A proportion of the event proceeds have been donated to local community groups The Aylesbury Wombles (town clean up charity) and Hand Talking (sign language school and supplier).
