Youth and Education Initiatives: We ran youth engagement programs and educational workshops aimed at empowering young people with skills, mentorship, and cultural identity. Health and Wellbeing: We partnered with local health organizations to promote awareness of physical and mental health, encouraging early intervention and access to services.
Stakeholder engagement was achieved through the following methods: Community Forums and Feedback Sessions: We held open forums during our cultural events and gatherings, such as the Nigerian Independence Day celebration and our participation in the Northampton Carnival. These sessions provided an opportunity for members to share their views, offer suggestions, and voice concerns. Surveys and Informal Interviews: We conducted informal surveys and one-on-one discussions with community members, volunteers, and partners to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges facing Nigerians and other African diaspora residents in Northampton, particularly in areas such as housing, education, and mental health. Partnership Engagement: We regularly consulted with our local partners, including health organizations, schools, local authorities, and community groups. These consultations helped shape our health and wellbeing campaigns, youth workshops, and support services. Youth and Parent Input: We engaged with parents and young people involved in our youth programs to assess the impact of our mentoring, cultural identity, and educational initiatives, and to tailor content based on their needs and aspirations.
