identity on tyne is a community interest company which focusing on providing cultural and creative opportunities for people of the global majority focused within North East Englands, as well as times across the UK . During the financial year 2023-24, the company's activities benefitted the community in the following ways: - 5 creatives of the global majority were able to be in nature for an extensive time through a creative residency with 5 national parks - a number of diverse committees benefited from attending creative workshops in community - 30 writers and artists were part of a zine created - 5 podcast episodes were shared within the community - a regular newsletter was created to keep the community informed of activities, opportunities and developments
The company's stakeholders are creatives of the community who benefit from the activities and opportunities we offer. The project coordinator of the company has been part of the creative and culture community for many years and has built up a network and connection of trust from this experience. We ask everyone coming in contact with the company to feedback about our events, opportunities and developments. This has helped up build up a profile of our projects as well as consider our communities needs and what we can do to meet them more effectively. Our research identified a much needed demand for more opportunities and activities for the community to become more creative and gathering together.
