Company activities and impact

In the space provided below, please insert a general account of the company’s activities in the financial year to which the report relates, including a description of how they have benefited the community. The Human Business was created to provide a wellbeing benefit for micro business owners ie. 10 employees or less A report we commissioned in 2023 confirmed that these small business owners faced many challenges including: - Work-life balance Health and well-being neglect Lack of personal development opportunities Financial uncertainty Isolation and loneliness Stress and burnout Limited resources and support Regulatory compliance We aim to create psychologically safe spaces were these business owners feel secure enough to voice opinions, share challenges and learn new skills from each other without fearing judgement. In our first year we have created a twice monthly on-line workshop meeting for our members and their guests. We have created a free to view training, The Connection Blueprint, to help people introduce themselves and start conversations in a more human and memorable way when they are out meeting people. We are currently developing a training course for business networkers that will enable them to be more memorable and to relax and enjoy their networking more. To help shape this course have just launched a survey asking for people’s views on networking in a post-pandemic world. We are also considering adding a face-to-face monthly meeting to our offering. During our first year we have focused on building a core group of supporters as well exploring possible partnerships and collaborations some of these are now bearing fruit and we look forward to increasing the number of micro business owners we can connect with and serve.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our main stakeholders are a small group of founder members with whom we meet regularly. They are very supportive, and we value their energy, expertise and commitment. All our programmes and plans are shared with them so that they can help us shape how we deliver our stated mission, which is - The Human Business is on a mission to put Human back into 1 million UK business’s’ – Outside of this group at every event we host we ask for feedback, and we genuinely welcome it.
