Company activities and impact

People Street Collaborative C.I.C is a coalition of local communities working together to tackle inequalities through grassroots innovation, research, and outreach. We are not service providers, we are bridges to services, working alongside people to co-design solutions that promote agency and subsidiarity. Our mission is to support communities to become active agents in their own lives, not passive recipients of public services. We are a global majority and female-led organisation, proudly representative of the communities we serve. Our team brings decades of experience in: Community development Community-led research Digital inclusion methodologies Recruitment for User research PPIE for academic research Addressing health inequalities Participatory facilitation Our Work In our third year of operation, we have delivered several community-led research projects, placing local people at the heart of service and product design. These projects champion inclusive design, ensuring digital and public services reflect the real needs of the people who use them. We launched the Centre for Health Empowerment in February 2025 as a result of the findings from our Cancer Research project. We run sessions in the community, in mother-tongue, on a range of issues that are traditionally taboo. These sessions are foundational to our research and engagement work, helping to build trust, insight, and long-term community partnerships. The purpose of the centre is to set research agendas with the community, run Community-led research challenges, analyse the data with the community and then act on what we hear with academics, policy makers, system leaders, service designers, commissioners and any other colleagues who join us on the journey. In 2025/26 we will host a roundtable to bring communities together with decision makers. 2024/25 Highlights include: User Research, Usability Testing and Policy Design: Supporting Home Office and Department of Health teams to recruit underrepresented participants for product testing and policy development. Academic Research: Partnering with Universities such as University of Surrey, QMUL and Oxford University to embed PPIE. Cancer Research: Delivering a grassroots cancer awareness and research project reaching global majority women in east London commissioned by NEL Cancer Alliance. Collaborations with other CIC’s: Partnering with The Red Earth Collective for a third year developing a toolkit for their Creative Health project. Collaborating with The Flourish Group on creating a Community Hub in the heart of Westminster. We also contribute our expertise to national and regional groups, including the DECIDE Programme PPIE, Advisory Group for Remote Blood Pressure Monitoring.

Consultation with stakeholders

The stakeholders are local communities engaging and taking part in our work. The stakeholders share their views through a myriad of ways including participating in surveys, feedback sessions and focus groups. They tell us how they want to be engaged, how often, the kinds of activities they want to participate, and they all self-select onto available programmes.
