The company runs and maintains a small rural car park. The rural setting means that there is limited parking for residents. The Car park was originally provided for the houses in the 1950s and was subsequently purchased by a housing company. The Car park was purchased by the CIC from the housing group in June 2024. The car park provides parking for the residents of St Julians Road and acts as a drop off and pick up point daily for Shoscombe Church School. The car park is used for at least one hour per day by school parents.
The stakeholders are the residents of St Julians Road and the parents of students who attend Shoscombe Church School. The directors of the CIC live in the village and have a good understanding of the parking needs of the residents and the parents. Some residents are also parents to children in the school. We ask the residents about their parking habits and their vehicle needs. There are 7 houses directly involved but the removal of the cars from the main road support the rest of the residents in an area of reduced road parking. We have regular contact with the head teacher of the school. The school cannot provide financial support but we work with them to support the school parents who need to drop off and collect their children. There are 110 students currently on roll. We hold regular meetings with the directors to discuss maintenance. We communicate through a whatsapp group on an informal basis. We communicate through email with more formal information.
