Company activities and impact

During the financial year, our CIC has delivered a range of impactful initiatives aimed at improving the lives of children, young people, and families within the local community. Our key areas of focus have been crime prevention, mental and physical wellbeing, and support for disadvantaged families. Highlights include: Youth Crime Prevention: We have provided a safe space through our community boxing gym, engaging over 40 young people who were at risk of knife crime or street activity. This initiative has helped divert them from negative influences by promoting discipline, structure, and positive mentorship. Educational Outreach: In partnership with three local schools, we have delivered workshops and awareness sessions on the dangers and consequences of knife crime. These sessions are designed to educate and empower young people to make informed, safer life choices. Tackling Holiday Hunger: We have distributed free lunches during school holidays to children and families in need, reinforcing our core belief that no child should resort to crime to meet basic needs like food. Community Referrals and Support: Our team has supported local individuals and families by referring them to foodbanks and other essential services. This has helped prevent hardship and reduced the risk of individuals turning to crime out of desperation. Mental and Physical Wellbeing: We have supported our community’s wellbeing through structured physical activities and open-access support. Our services promote both physical fitness and mental resilience, which are critical for long-term positive outcomes. Community Hub: We have opened a friendly and inclusive hub where members of the community can meet, connect, and seek support. The hub offers a safe environment to reduce loneliness and increase social cohesion. Ongoing Support Services: We now operate five days a week and also deliver holiday clubs to ensure children and young people have consistent, positive engagement throughout the year. Local Partnerships: We are proud to collaborate with 10 local businesses and community organisations, which have helped us increase our reach and deliver services more effectively. Future Projects: We are in the process of launching childcare facilities and out-of-school clubs, aimed at supporting working parents, enhancing child development, and improving access to affordable, quality childcare within the community. Overall, our organisation continues to play a vital role in safeguarding young people, supporting families, and strengthening community wellbeing. Our long-term goal remains the creation of a safer, healthier, and more resilient local area.

Consultation with stakeholders

Throughout the year, we have actively engaged with key stakeholders to ensure our services are informed by community needs and are delivering meaningful impact. These consultations have helped us tailor our approach and strengthen collaborative working. Key engagement activities included: Youth Focus Groups: We facilitated several focus groups with young people in the community to better understand the drivers behind knife crime and what types of interventions would be most effective. Their feedback directly shaped our activity programmes, including the boxing gym sessions and educational outreach. Strategic Collaboration with Police and Schools: We held regular steering group meetings with representatives from the local police force and three local schools. These sessions helped us coordinate efforts and develop targeted solutions, such as community safety pop-up events in high-risk areas. Partnership with Neighborhood Watch: We have established a working relationship with the local Neighborhood Watch scheme to co-design and deliver community action days. These events aim to foster a sense of local pride, improve visibility of services, and build stronger links between residents and support agencies. This collaborative approach has ensured that our initiatives remain grounded in the real challenges faced by our community and supported by those in a position to help us drive change.
