DICE AND DECKS FENLAND CIC

Directors' report period ended 31 August 2024

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 August 2024

Principal activities of the company

In the year August 2023-August 2024, we ran 20 board game/role playing game sessions for children. In doing so, we have provided low-cost entertainment for members of the local community. We provide biscuits and other snacks included in the entry fee, and sell low cost drinks. We have a group of regular attendees, which has grown this year from approximately 10 regular attendees to 20, with some no longer attending due to being too old. The gaming activities encourage creativity, sportsmanship, and develop social skills in the children who attend. We have also seen some begin to take additional responsibility of running the games themselves, showing a boost to their confidence and requiring them to develop planning and organisational skills.

Additional information

Our stakeholders are the children who attend our sessions and their guardians. Each term we survey them to find out what is working well, what could be done better, and what they would like to see. This has changed the operational hours of our sessions from 3 hours to 2 hours, and will see those hours changed again to 2.5 hours in September 2025. The consultations have also informed which games are added to our library, as well as what snacks are provided. We now offer gluten free snacks and have purchased games with more physical elements, such as games requiring running. No consultation has been held with their guardians
