Company activities and impact

Hands for Youth CIC is a youth centre that supports young people aged 8-18 years within the South Tyneside area. We opened our centre officially in May 2024. During the financial year 2024-2025, the centre's activities have benefited the community in the following ways: -Young people have had access to a safe and welcoming environment which has provided a space for young people to be off the streets and be with their friends without causing trouble within the community. - Daily after school youth clubs which have supported the development of skills such as creativity, cooking, life skills, finance, communication and teamwork. - The centre has provided part-time employment to 2 local residents as well as volunteering opportunities for 1 adult and 2 young people aged between 16-18. - We have provided FREE mental health support for young people aged 8-18. 109 people have accessed our service to date and we currently have a waitlist of 51 for this years' cohort. - We provide mental health services such as counselling and play therapy, which 28 young people have accessed.
