The company provides community activities such as forest school sessions, stay and play activities, after school and holiday club activities and short stay activities for children and their families (including children with SEND) which will support emotional well-being, physical well-being and development and promote communication and language skills. During the financial year 2023 – 2024 the company has supported the community in the following ways: 22 weeks of fully funded forest school sessions for Preschool children and/or home educated children. These sessions have reached up to 400 children so far between May 2024 and December 2024 The above funding from the National lottery has allowed for subsidised holiday activities for children and families in just 3 afternoon forest school sessions in August we reached 69 children and their families. From June 2024 – Dec 2024 in partnership with another local Community Interest Company we have worked with 5 Primary Schools in supporting children with therapeutic, nature based approaches to supporting children’s behaviour, well-being and mental health. A total of 60 children and 15 staff have been supported so far with this project. During 3 once per month weekend sessions we have offered inclusive forest school activities for 38 children with SEND and their families. We have partnered with a local community centre to offer after school nature based crafts to children in the local community. This totals up to 40 children per session each week for 8 weeks up to this point. We have delivered 3 sessions of Women’s woodland well-being sessions supporting women’s mental health and well-being through nature connection. This totals up to 21 women Consultancy services have supported 3 x school sites for Outcomes First Group as a school improvement partner, focusing on improving outcomes for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). These schools include children ranging from 4 years to 20 years of age.
We hold regular meeting with the Directors sharing updates on funding and ideas for furthering the company’s impact within the local community and beyond. We attend forums and network meetings with other CIC in our community and have recently set up a shared social media account alongside a partner CIC to support shared interests and initiatives within the community. We have close connections with local council e.g. Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council and our local community centre Swanside Community Centre where we share information about current community concerns and/or areas of focus. We regularly consult with our community which uses our services through social media and comments and feedback as well as more structured feedback surveys which have helped shape our services and provide evidence of need for some services within the community. Our stakeholders include local councils, other partner agencies and CIC, schools in the area as well parents, families and children in the local community
