As with previous years the Salam Project continued to promote empowerment, life skills, apprenticeships, employment, higher education, cultural heritage and British values as partial solutions to many societal and social ills. Our main areas of focus this year were: Anti Youth Crime Outreach - Workshops in schools/Youth Clubs/Faith Institutions in London and Manchester; Mentor training for faith institution volunteers and faith leaders in London and Manchester; Challenging knife crime, county lines, extremism/ radicalisation, offending / re- offending, gang crime and BME youth unemployment in London and Manchester; Promoting jobs, careers, apprenticeship & accredited training to BME NEET’s in London and Manchester. This year the Salam Project was able to: Refer 46 people to various accredited training opportunities Connect 32 people to various jobs, apprenticeships, traineeship opportunities. Deliver workshops and training to over 2800 people. (adults & young people) Support 12 people towards business start up opportunities. Support over 21 young people into non- paying work experience opportunities. Support over 36 young people into various creative arts projects.
A number of focus groups through the year involving users, volunteers, partner organisations, potential funders and supporters.
