We continued the aims of last year and again worked closely with other counselling agencies, offering space for their work which supplemented access to no cost and low-cost counselling. Both Families Out Loud and Teen Talk utilised our building opening provision for work with young people and families of drug and alcohol users. Our own counselling work includes a psychotherapist who is a specialist in neurodiversity. Counselling students are also supported by the team through a placement opportunity and also with supervision. We continue to support the Westbury Area Network by collecting food for the food bank and at Christmas organised a fund raiser which brought in cash donations for the food bank. The Listening Project took off and we were supported by a grant for £1000 from Westbury Town Council. This enabled us to offer no cost spaces to members of the community for our Level 2 Listening Skills Course. This work continues and expands to offer Restorative Circle training which forms part of our longer-term plan of reconciliation work within the community. Other projects are ongoing: mindfulness and meditation groups meet at the centre.
Westbury Town Council gave us a grant for £1000 towards the set-up of the Listening Project, which it was considered to be a valuable community resource . We have fed back a summary of account to keep them advised.
