Year Ending: 29 September 2024

Company activities and impact

During the past financial year, our company’s activities have contributed positively to the local community by helping to maintain and preserve the Greatstone sand dunes. We organized several volunteer work parties, with members and local residents lending their time and effort to support the conservation of this important natural area. Their help in removing invasive species has been vital in protecting the native plants and wildlife that depend on the preservation of a unique eco- system. These efforts have also helped keep the dunes in good condition for those who use them for recreation. The dunes’ role as part of the area’s sea defence has also been supported through our ongoing actions. By looking after this natural feature, we are contributing to the community’s protection against coastal erosion.

Consultation with stakeholders

We regularly consult with conservationists at Romney Marsh Countryside Partnership who manage substantial areas of the sand dunes on behalf of the local authority. They assist us with co- ordination of our conservation efforts. We discuss issues with local residents and welcome their participation in our activities. We provide a website and have leaflets that explain our mission and activities
