During the financial year, our organisation focused on delivering a wide range of community-integration and youth support programmes for the Hong Kong BN(O) community across the UK. We coordinated regional events and managed a team of staff and volunteers to ensure the successful implementation of projects funded by the Greater London Authority (GLA), local councils, and charitable foundations. We organised a nationwide Next Station Project and a public exhibition supported by GLA and local authorities. Over 120 children from seven regions participated, learning about inclusive urban planning. Their creative work was displayed in a public exhibition attended by council members and community representatives, reinforcing that their voices matter. For young people, we launched the ChatEng Programme, a free nationwide English class for HKBN(O) youth aged 9 - 17, funded by CZSA UK. This programme provided practical conversational English education and received highly positive feedback. We also co-organised an internship programme with Flamesprint for Hong Kong students (Aug - Oct 2023), offering real-world experience in event planning and communications. Additionally, we held two education seminars with TWHKB and Hongkongers in Britain, reaching 122 participants and offering university preparation guidance and 1on1 consultations. We expanded our services to East Sussex and West Sussex with the support of local authorities and government funding, launching a new series of orientation and family programmes. Our team, including experienced social workers and educators from Hong Kong, continues to contribute significantly to integrating the HKBN(O) community in the UK. With a diverse advisory board and strong community partnerships, we are well-positioned to sustain and expand our impact.
Our stakeholders include HKBN(O) families, local councils, UK-based Hong Kong organisations, educational institutions, volunteers, and funding bodies such as the Greater London Authority and regional authorities in East Sussex County Council. We regularly engage stakeholders through: Feedback surveys after each major event Focus groups with parents and young people Collaborative planning meetings with partner organisations and councils Informal consultations via community platforms and social media Feedback from parents and children on our Next Station Project indicated high satisfaction and requests for programme expansion to other regions, which directly led to us launching activities in six additional areas. We also collected detailed feedback from participants of our English programme and university workshops. Their input has shaped the future direction of our education and career support efforts. Our strong collaboration with community groups such as City Life Church Southampton, Hackney Chinese Community Services, and Citizens Advice in Kent has enabled us to fine-tune our service delivery in response to local needs. We communicate openly with our advisory board, who offer guidance on safeguarding, education, and integration. Their insights have helped us uphold high standards and stay aligned with our community mission.
