COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

MANCHESTER'S GOT TALENT COMMUNITIES CIC

Company Number: 13827876 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 January 2025

Company activities and impact

During the financial year, our CIC has supported young people, families, and vulnerable members of the community across Manchester through a range of impactful activities. We provided mentoring, barbering skills training, health education, financial wellbeing and stress support, and helped people back into work or education. We also worked closely with parents affected by knife crime – both victims and those whose children were involved – offering non-judgemental support and linking them to essential services. Our work is grounded in collaboration. We partnered with CAHN, BHA, NHS Answer Cancer, Nurturing Foundations (on health), GMP, BAPA, NMIP, and StreetDoctors on crime prevention and community safety. We’ve also worked with local barbers and businesses to offer pathways back into employment. On equality and opportunities, we contributed to the GM Race Equality Panel and collaborated with Factory International, HOME, Royal Northern College of Music, Sick Festival and the MTV Awards at Co-op Live to give talented people across Manchester access to major platforms. In schools, we supported the E-Million Mentors programme, worked with the North Manchester Inclusion Partnership, and helped mentor pupils. We also connected with BBC Radio, Radio Diamond, Moods Radio, and Radio Africana to amplify youth voices and community updates. Through Kick Off@3, Sport England, Windrush Millennium Centre, and others, we’ve promoted access to sport and cultural opportunities for all ages. This work would not be possible without our grassroots partners, volunteers, and local networks, who have come together with us to build a stronger, more inclusive Manchester.

Consultation with stakeholders

We regularly consult with the community through informal feedback, conversations at events, and one-to-one sessions with young people, parents, and local partners. We also gather insight from schools, health professionals, barbers, grassroots groups, and organisations like CAHN, GMP, and Nurturing Foundations to understand local needs. Feedback directly shapes our services from youth-led event planning, to adjusting support around mental health, education, or crime prevention. We prioritise co-creation and ensure those we serve feel heard, especially those often excluded from traditional decision-making spaces.
