YourStance has had a transformative year in 2023/2024, marked by significant internal growth that has strengthened our ability to scale and expand our external impact. Central to our mission remains the delivery of dynamic, educational workshops that equip young people with life-saving knowledge and empower them to act confidently in emergency situations. Over the past year, we have trained 1,900 young people aged 11–25 in Bleed control techniques, Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Basic life support and Psychological first aid. These skills are not only essential for saving lives but also build confidence and resilience among young people, especially those impacted by serious youth violence and inequality. We are proud that our robust evaluation processes continue to demonstrate the positive outcomes of our work. In line with our mission to reduce preventable deaths caused by serious violence, we are also committed to addressing systemic inequalities related to class, health, and race. Our programming specifically targets communities most affected by these issues, ensuring that our interventions are both meaningful and equitable. Data sources from 2024 included 1,221 participant feedback forms, 55 volunteer feedback forms and 28 partner feedback forms. 26% of participants were victims of serious youth violence (SYV), 62% of prison-based participants were victims of SYV, 41% in alternative education provision (AEP), 21% in youth hubs, 17% via outreach, 53% of participants had experienced at least one adverse childhood experience (ACE), 44% had been suspended, excluded, or expelled from school, 31% had been stopped and searched by police, 9% had experienced homelessness and 4% had lived in care. Our data shows strong, positive outcomes as a result of workshop participation. 83% felt more confident in responding to a medical emergency, 78% felt safer after attending the session, 80% reported improved confidence and 82% said they would recommend the session to others. At YourStance, we recognise that meaningful consultation with our stakeholders is vital to the growth, development, and continual improvement of our services. Our stakeholders include the young people we support, our delivery partners, funders, volunteers, and our board of advisors - all of whom play a crucial role in shaping the direction and impact of our work. Youth Engagement We hold annual Youth Forums that provide a structured platform for young people to review and provide feedback on our workshop content, delivery style, and wider organisational priorities. These forums ensure that our services remain youth-led, relevant, and responsive to the needs and lived experiences of those we serve. Ongoing Feedback Mechanisms We actively gather and analyse feedback from participants, volunteers, and partner organisations through post-session evaluation forms. This feedback directly informs improvements in workshop design, delivery methods, and outreach approaches. By embedding feedback loops into our programmes, we create clear pathways for stakeholder voices to be heard and acted upon. Strategic Oversight Our quarterly board of advisor meetings provide an additional layer of oversight and consultation. These meetings focus on service development, organisational sustainability, and strategic alignment, ensuring that YourStance remains both impactful and resilient. Through these mechanisms, YourStance fosters a culture of co-production, accountability, and continuous learning - enabling us to evolve in direct response to the insights and needs of our stakeholders. Stakeholder Partnership with Arsenal In The Community Post-16 Group A significant highlight this year was the development of a strong and dynamic partnership with the Arsenal Post-16 Group. This collaboration extended beyond the workshop we provided. Following one of our workshops, two participants with a keen interest in marketing and the creative industries were invited to support voiceover recording for an educational animation project we have develop with a company. This animation will serve as an additional platform for delivering our core messages around bleed control and emergency response. Being able to lean on this partnership to amplify young voices and bring authenticity to our content has been invaluable. The project not only gave these young people practical experience in a creative field but also strengthened our commitment to co-creating resources with the communities we serve. This partnership with Arsenal is a powerful example of how stakeholder collaboration can create lasting value - both in terms of project development and positive youth engagement.
