  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discount and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the sale of goods and the rendering of services. Turnover is reduced for estimated customers returns, rebates and similar allowance.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible fixed assets are measured at the cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off costs of the fixed asset, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on the following basis : Plant & Machinery - 20% Straight Line

Company activities and impact

Key activities over the year included: Mobile Health and Fitness Delivery Operating a fleet of state of the art mobile fitness facilities, the organisation provided accessible exercise sessions at care homes, schools, community hubs, and neighbourhood centres. These sessions supported physical health, social engagement, and mental wellbeing particularly among isolated older adults and residents in deprived areas. Employment and Qualification Programmes, Through its flagship ‘Learn to Earn’ programme, Fitness Rush Community CIC delivered fully accredited Level 2 and Level 3 fitness qualifications over a 16-week course, with built-in work placements and guaranteed job interviews. This initiative directly supported youth and adult learners into sustainable careers in the health and fitness sector. Inclusive Community Events and Workshops: The CIC led inclusive activity days, health-check events, and fitness workshops often in partnership with local schools, councils, and charitable organisations promoting healthier lifestyles, reducing health inequalities, and encouraging participation across all ages and backgrounds. Nutrition and Healthy Eating Campaigns: In line with its holistic approach, the organisation began piloting healthy eating initiatives and laying the groundwork for a community led high protein cafe, supporting positive dietary habits while creating volunteering and skills-building opportunities for local residents. Impact Summary: Reached over 3,500 individuals with direct exercise and health interventions. Enabled 90 learners to complete nationally recognised fitness qualifications. Delivered services across over 25 community venues and 15 care homes. Provided tailored fitness sessions for more than 300 older adults at risk of isolation. Created volunteering, mentoring, and job placement pathways for community members. Fitness Rush Community CIC continues to demonstrate a measurable and lasting impact on both individual lives and broader community wellbeing, aligning every activity with its social purpose to improve health equity and career access for all.

Consultation with stakeholders

Stakeholders of Fitness Rush Community CIC include: local community members, young people, care home residents, partner schools and care homes, local authorities, volunteers, and funders. Consultation Activities: The company gathered feedback through participant surveys, informal conversations, focus groups with young people, and regular meetings with partner organisations and funders. Actions Taken in Response: Adjusted session times to improve accessibility. Introduced seated and low-impact exercise options for older adults. Added CV and interview preparation to qualification programmes. Included health checks and nutrition advice in community events. This ongoing consultation ensures services remain relevant, inclusive, and community-driven.
