Summary of Activities During the year from October 2023 to September 2024, Skate Molton CIC (SM) continued to provide free to attend events for people of all ages and abilities from the local community and beyond. These events have not only provided entertainment but have also served as platforms for community engagement and youth empowerment. The Skate Molton CIC events in South Molton and other towns such as Barnstaple have provided the communities with easy access to support and services by utilising local business and charity links and providing a hub at the events for some of these organisations. Skate Molton CIC’s events also promote an active lifestyle improving physical and mental health. Though its events Skate Molton has distributed hundreds of healthy snacks to members of the community, by either utilising funding to cover the costs or donations. Furthermore, Skate Molton CIC's events have had a positive impact on the community by providing young people with a safe and supportive environment to pursue their interests and passions through volunteering and participating. They have developed valuable skills such as teamwork, perseverance, and self-confidence, empowering them to become active and engaged members of society. During the financial year 2023-2024 Skate Molton CIC started work on an indoor skatepark and community hub called Skate Molton HQ, with the help of funders, local businesses and the local council. Skate Molton HQ’s aim will be to provide affordable activities and skate lessons and a safe space for the community and surrounding areas to enjoy. Any income generated from the Skate Molton HQ will be used for running costs of the Skate Molton HQ and hosting more, free to attend events in the area. Overall, Skate Molton CIC's activities at the South Molton Pannier Market in the financial year of 2023-2024 have continued to make a significant contribution to the community. Through its events, the organisation has promoted social inclusion, economic growth, and youth empowerment, enriching the lives of residents and strengthening the fabric of the South Molton community.
Skate Molton CIC's stakeholders encompass a diverse range of individuals, groups, and organisations who have an interest or are affected by the activities and outcomes of the company. Some key stakeholders for Skate Molton CIC include: Skateboarders and Skating Enthusiasts: These individuals are directly impacted by Skate Molton CIC's activities, as the organization provides them with opportunities to participate in skateboarding events, access facilities, and engage with the skateboarding community. Local Residents: Residents of South Molton and surrounding areas are stakeholders as they may benefit from the events organized by Skate Molton CIC, whether through entertainment, economic opportunities, or community engagement. Local Businesses: Businesses in South Molton, particularly those near the South Molton Pannier Market where events are held, are stakeholders as they may experience increased foot traffic and sales during Skate Molton CIC events. Community Organizations: Organizations and groups within the community, such as youth clubs, schools, and recreational centres, may collaborate with Skate Molton CIC or benefit from its activities, making them stakeholders in the organization's success. Local Government: The local government, including municipal authorities and council members, may have an interest in Skate Molton CIC's activities due to their impact on the community, public spaces, and local economy.
