In our first year of operation, V.O.W (Voice Out Woman) CIC did not undertake any financial transactions due to administrative delays in opening a business bank account. However, we remained committed to our mission of supporting migrant women and their young people. We engaged our target community through online forums, Q&A sessions, and interactive digital platforms to identify their key challenges and areas of need. From this outreach, we identified three primary issues: - Lack of employment support and CV-writing guidance. - Limited awareness around domestic abuse and support services. - The need for safe spaces for community, confidence building, and peer support. To respond proactively, we partnered with Tendercare, a local community organisation, to deliver a weekly women's support group. This initiative benefited 15 migrant women, providing: - CV-writing workshops and employability guidance. - Domestic abuse awareness sessions. - Emotional support and peer-to-peer engagement. These sessions created a safe, empowering environment for women who might otherwise be isolated, helping them to build confidence and access vital resources. 2. Future Plans As our administrative foundation is now being finalised, including bank account setup, V.O.W (Voice Out Woman) CIC intends to: - Apply for funding to expand our programmes and outreach. - Deliver structured, regular support sessions targeting both migrant women and young people. - Provide access to mental health, domestic abuse, and employability support in collaboration with local service providers. - Build a strong referral and partnership network to offer holistic support. Our goal is to amplify the voices of migrant women and youth, provide platforms for their empowerment, and create opportunities for long-term impact.
