COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

SOUL FOOD SISTERS CIC

Company Number: SC476651 (Scotland)

Year Ending: 29 June 2024

Company activities and impact

Soul Food Sisters is a social enterprise which uses catering services/workshops to provide opportunities for migrant women to develop employability skills and improve their confidence and self-esteem. This objective has been achieved through: Organisational growth: The Soul Food Sisters have built their catering business back up over the last 12 months and continued to make valuable connections in the third sector. We were able to retain current members and attract new volunteers to assist with continued community outreach work where we provided meals and food parcels within our community in as the effects are still felt post pandemic. Building partnership/Staff and Volunteer Development: We collaborated with local stakeholders and other organisations to deliver talks and workshops. We celebrated the hard work of staff and volunteers by sharing our experiences. We have worked hard to connect and reestablish our relationships in the third sector and have become the preferred caterer for many organisations which provides us with regular income streams. We have retained our staff team and attracted a solid volunteer base throughout this time.

Consultation with stakeholders

A programme of community events has been developed after consultation with our beneficiaries. Updates and development of cafe and catering menu decisions have been delegated to our staff and volunteers. We work closely with Third sector partners to provide healthy and ethically produced catering options for many events and conferences.

Directors' remuneration

A total of £620 was paid to the directors for services performed for the CIC.
