Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 30 November 2024 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover comprises the invoiced value of goods and services supplied by the company plus grants received, net of Value Added Tax (where VAT registered) and trade discounts.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible fixed assets, other than freehold land, are stated at cost or valuation less depreciation and any provision for impairment. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost or valuation of fixed assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on the following basis: Fixtures and Fittings 25% Reducing Balance Computer Equipment 25% Reducing Balance

Company activities and impact

Sensory Learning & Play C.I.C. provide a safe, stimulating environment for all children, including those with additional learning needs. The children will play and develop new skills through sensory equipment, free play and structured play sessions. Pre-school benefit from fun sessions and free play which include; stay & play, applied group theraplay approach and parent toddler sessions. Children and young people aged 6-25 benefit from focused support, such as mentoring, applied theraplay principals, behavioral strategies, community befriending and counselling. 'Believe, Relate, Improve, Dedication, Goals, Empower' This Bridge project targets year 9, 10 & 11 students through an individualised programme to meet their needs holistically. The Bridge Project is a breakthrough programme that intervenes early successful transition from school to work. Communities gain advice and support for; budgeting, parenting, family mediation/counselling and therapeutic sessions -DDP, TLSW social skills and MBCT. Children aged 5-18 enjoy our express yourself SEND holiday activities club. All activities ensure vulnerable groups are able to engage in positive community activities.

Consultation with stakeholders

Sensory Learning & Play C.I.C is managed by a board - regular board meetings are held where all board members have the opportunity to contribute ideas in terms of how the company can be run more effectively. The minutes from these meetings are then distributed and form the basis of any actions required to facilitate the ongoing management of the CIC. We employ community members, have surveys, and meetings to invite the community to which is where we draw ideas from , our current projects have allowed us to identify the value of bringing different cultures, needs and experiences together through play, interaction, new opportunities and building healthy support networks. The benefits of stakeholder consultation ensure that our grassroots projects are relevant to the needs of the community, supported and meet the priorities within the service user group.
