| Turnover represents service and maintenance contributions paid by flat owners and excludes value added tax. Any surplus or deficit is appropriated to the property sinking fund. |

| No depreciation is charged on land and buildings as the residual value is believed to be higher than historical cost. |
| Taxation |
| Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Statement of Income and Retained Earnings, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. |
