COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

CHALFEST COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Company Number: 10400027 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 September 2024

Company activities and impact

Chalfest returned again in 2024 as once again the community come together for two great days of festival entertainment with close to 100 volunteers from the local community getting involved in organizing, performing, stewarding, building and tidying up the event. The event takes around 9 months to plan, prepare and deliver and with more volunteers on board, the process is much smoother and enjoyable for even more of the community. The Chalfest team continues to support other local groups in the year leading up to the event by using it’s social media reach and presence to promote events and causes. All local community groups and charities were once again given free space to raise awareness and funds. These included scouts, cubs, community shop, Stroud Valleys Project, Food Bank. Parish Council, local school PTAs and churches.

Consultation with stakeholders

We held a community meeting en masse at least once a month for the 4 months leading up to the event and ensured all members of the community had a chance to speak at these or volunteer for the event. These were very well attended and supported. To make sure no one missed out on the chance of attending a team of volunteers knocked on all doors within a 500 metre radius of the event reminding people that it was taking place and ensuring those that wanted tickets, had them. The Parish Council also helped with this process and we held regular meetings with them to ensure the event was for the benefit of the community.
