Over the past year, we continued to run our popular monthly pop-up events for families of disabled and non-disabled children, while also expanding our offer through additional events delivered in collaboration with the local council. These events remain central to our mission; providing inclusive spaces where all families can exercise, socialise, relax, and play together in a welcoming, stigma-free environment. We also continued to run our dedicated fitness and horticulture sessions for young adults with learning disabilities (ages 16–25), supporting their physical health, social connections, and mental wellbeing. We introduced holiday play schemes designed to meet the needs of disabled and non-disabled children alike, creating new opportunities for shared learning, enjoyment, and inclusion during school breaks. The Together Space continues to be a place where families of disabled children feel safe, supported, and part of a wider community. At the same time, it provides a unique setting where non-disabled families can learn about disability and neurodiversity, helping to break down barriers and challenge stigma through shared experiences and play. Importantly, we are proud to employ young adults with learning disabilities to work at our events, offering meaningful, paid employment at the London Living Wage, and supporting pathways into inclusive work. Our monthly events continue to sell out quickly, with 170 tickets allocated for each one. We offer a mix of paid and free tickets to ensure accessibility for all families, regardless of financial circumstance.
We consistently gather feedback from our community after each event, through surveys and informal input, and use this to shape what we offer and improve our delivery. Our community includes families with children aged 0–16 and young adults aged 16–25, and we remain committed to responding to their needs. Here are just a few comments from families and participants: “I just wanted to say thank you so much for organising the holiday club last week. It was brilliant and Oscar had a great time! It was great he could have some independence away from me and that I knew he would be safe and understood.” “The Together Space makes me feel free as this company is my comfort zone. I also enjoy it because of all the fun things I’ve been doing like manning the tuck shop. It’s a good work opportunity, especially when you get to learn new skills to do.” (young adult employee) “A brilliant, much needed initiative that has been really well organised.” from a parent of three, including a child with complex needs “It’s absolutely fantastic and I feel privileged that my (neurotypical) children are playing alongside everyone else without any distinction being made.” “Really happy to find a space where you feel relaxed and accepted. Also where siblings can play together. It’s really well thought out and the activities are perfect for my daughter.”
One of the directors who has an active role in running and managing the activities declared and paid a salary of £3816 for the year.
