for the Year Ended 30th September 2024 |
The trustees who are also directors of the charity for the purposes of the Companies Act 2006, present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 30th September 2024. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019). |
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES |
Objectives and aims |
The company has acted as a representative body acting for members of the local community in Bushey, Hertfordshire, to ensure their continuing access to the facilities at the community centre known as the "Bushey Centre". |
Public benefit |
The Trustees consider that they have complied with the duty in s.4 Charities Act 2006 to have regard to the public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission. |
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE |
Charitable activities |
The company has not been active throughout the year and its future operation is being assessed . |
FINANCIAL REVIEW |
Financial position |
During the course of its activities the company did not undertake any financial transactions during the year. |
The company has maintained limited reserves in order to deal with any necessary administrative costs. |
FUTURE PLANS |
The trustees continue to keep the future of the charity under review while further consultations are awaited about the future development of the site, which includes the Bushey Centre and its role in conjunction with other local organisations and interested parties. |
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT |
Governing document |
The charity is controlled by its governing document, a deed of trust, and constitutes a limited company, limited by guarantee, as defined by the Companies Act 2006. |
The company is limited by guarantee. The management of the Company is the responsibility of the Trustees who are elected and co opted under the terms of the Articles of Association. The trustees are drawn from amongst the organisations who are regular users of the centre and other members of the local community. |

The charitable company is entitled to exemption from audit under Section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 for the year ended 30th September 2024. |
The members have not required the company to obtain an audit of its financial statements for the year ended 30th September 2024 in accordance with Section 476 of the Companies Act 2006. |
The trustees acknowledge their responsibilities for |
(a) | ensuring that the charitable company keeps accounting records that comply with Sections 386 and 387 of the Companies Act 2006 and |
(b) | preparing financial statements which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company as at the end of each financial year and of its surplus or deficit for each financial year in accordance with the requirements of Sections 394 and 395 and which otherwise comply with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 relating to financial statements, so far as applicable to the charitable company. |

1. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
Basis of preparing the financial statements |
The financial statements of the charitable company, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019)', Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland' and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. |
The significant accounting policies applied in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have been consistently applied to all years presented unless otherwise stated. The financial statements are presented in sterling which is the functional currency of the company and rounded to the nearest pound. |
Preparation of the accounts on a going concern basis |
Funding for the Charity's day to day operations is secure and there are no material uncertainties and on this basis the Charity is a going concern. |
Cash at bank and in hand |
Cash at bank and in hand includes cash and short term highly liquid deposits or similar accounts. |
Company status |
The Company is a company limited by guarantee. The members of the company are the Directors named on page 1. In the event of the Company being wound up, the liability in respect of the guarantee is limited to £1 per member of the Company. |
Taxation |
The charity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities. |
Fund accounting |
Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees. |
Restricted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes. |

There were no trustees' remuneration or other benefits for the year ended 30th September 2024 nor for the year ended 30th September 2023. |
