Company activities and impact

Achieve your Goals CIC work with primary schools (Key stage 1 & 2) pupils and whole communities to ensure we hit sustainability goals and accelerate the UKs path towards net zero. Our ethos is to support communities in reducing their carbon output and energy usage using a three pronged approach: education, monitoring and implementation. AYG lead stem sessions in school, this gives pupils the opportunity to develop their own Green Company and work as a team to come up with a name, logo, organise finances and build a wind turbine. Schools are the trusted heart of the community and through our programme we can communicate with parents, grandparents, carers and the wider community. We provide hints and tips on how to save energy and become more sustainable through half term "Call to actions" we also provide more in-depth information about energy efficiency measures, energy tariff advice and fuel debt through coffee mornings & Leaflet drops. Over the past year we have worked closely with Walsall Council to ensure hard-to-reach households received £1.5million of grant funded money, with £78,500 of energy savings. This imitative has led to Walsall Council winning the APSE Energy Award for supporting innovation but more importantly we have helped the most venerable in society. We are currently working in schools in the most deprived areas of Birmingham, Walsall, Rotherham and Norwich but are looking to expand to North Yorkshire going into the new school year.
