Company activities and impact

The company operates from a community centre, with a strong focus on supporting deprived and underrepresented local communities. Throughout the year, it develops and delivers a range of activities and services designed to benefit the community in the following ways: Supporting disadvantaged individuals and communities in the West Midlands and North Birmingham by promoting lifelong learning and enhancing employability prospects. Fostering self-awareness, strengthening community learning environments, celebrating cultural identity, and building positive public and community relationships to empower residents in marginalised areas. Enabling individuals to transition to improved life outcomes through lifelong learning, social change initiatives for the common good, leadership development, innovative skill-building programmes, and the provision of safe, inclusive spaces that support mental health and community empowerment. The Community Interest Company (CIC) will offer: Full-time or part-time employment opportunities for four local residents. A variety of workshops focusing on community development, skill acquisition, youth leadership, self-empowerment, and goal setting for a positive future. Summer programmes in media and music. Safe and innovative learning environments not currently accessible to many disadvantaged individuals and communities. These initiatives aim to equip individuals with new skills, confidence, and knowledge, enabling them to make informed decisions, take ownership of their personal development, and engage in lifelong learning. By helping individuals overcome barriers to education, improve their employability, reduce stress and anxiety, and build resilience, the company contributes to meaningful social change and encourages active citizenship.
