Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 31 July 2024 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

The directors have chosen not to file a copy of the company's profit and loss account.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible fixed assets are initially measured at cost and subsequently measured at cost or valuation, net of depreciation and any impairment losses. Depreciation is recognised so as to write off the cost or valuation of assets less their residual values over their useful lives on the following basis Motor Vehicles - 20% reducing balance The gain or loss arising on the disposal of an asset is determined as the difference between the sale proceeds and the carrying value of the asset and is credited or charged to surplus or deficit.

Company activities and impact

The project is unique in the area as we offer many benefits to the local community. We have the foodbank to support people in food poverty, the discount store is open to everyone but helps low income families, we offer work experience and volunteering opportunitics, we support other community groups by sharing food and we save food from being wasted. It encompasses:NotJust a food bank - an independent food bank and food waste project. Our food bank feeds 250 people a week on average NotJust a store - selling discounted food to raise funds for the food bank and humanitarian projects and reducing food waste by saving food from landfill or incineration

Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders are:People in food poverty and the general public as they have access to free and low cost food Food suppliers and local supermarkets as we save their surplus food and short dated foods going to waste and thus reducing their food disposal costs. Local community groups that we work with as we share our exeess food with them Regular contact is made with the local stakeholders and feed back is appreciated and acted upon for the benefit of the project
