COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

ALMOND TREE FOUNDATION CIC

Company Number: 12985577 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 October 2024

Company activities and impact

The company runs a website portal (www.thealmondtree.org) providing educational wellbeing services to people caring for family members living with disability or illness. The company began in October 2020 and continues to grow its reach. During the 2023–2024 financial year, the company supported the community in the following ways: - Ran four live online Community Drop-in sessions offering a space for carers to connect, reflect, and receive support. - Recorded and released three new Stories of Hope interviews, featuring lived experiences from people caring for others. - Published the organisation’s first blog post, which was read over 500 times. - Delivered a live “Welcome to Wellbeing” session in partnership with Scope, signed an MOU to collaborate further, and developed a four-part series to be delivered the following year. - Session recordings remained freely available through the website portal. Over 1,000 hours of our sessions have been viewed since the foundation began. - Website traffic increased (up over 9% from the previous year), with 600+ unique visitors and 1,210 sessions. 60 new members joined our community. -Although no fundraising campaign took place this year, the charity received individual donations from community members. The following participant comment reflects the ongoing impact of the work: "What you are sharing is so important, so universal, so amazing and so beautiful, I wish everyone would take the time to really listen. From the bottom of my heart."

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders are the community it has built of people caring for family members living with an illness or disability. This includes parents, carers, and others living with long-term conditions. Many of our speakers, interviewees, and both company directors have first-hand experience of these challenges, which continues to shape the direction of the organisation. We routinely ask participants in our webinars, drop-ins, and video sessions to complete feedback forms. This helps us understand the needs of the community and adjust our focus accordingly. During this financial year, feedback indicated a strong desire for more Community Drop-ins and a belief that more people could benefit from the support on offer. In response, we increased visibility by hosting a booth at the Kidz to Adultz South exhibition for the first time. The exhibition, aimed at children and young people with disabilities and the people who support them, was attended by thousands. Although we were initially unsure how wellbeing education would be received in that setting, the response was overwhelmingly positive. Many parents, carers, and professionals told us that the Almond Tree Foundation offered something unique and genuinely needed. These conversations echoed what we have consistently heard from our community: that life is often stressful and difficult, and that support focused on emotional wellbeing is both welcome and helpful. A number of new members joined us through the exhibition.
