Aspire Media N.I. CIC continues to deliver on its mission of promoting positive media across Ballysally, Millburn and the wider Causeway Coast & Glens area. Our activities over the financial year have focused on community engagement, accessible media production, and platforming local voices. Key activities and impact this year include: Creating Pathways into Media We continued to provide volunteering and creative opportunities for individuals interested in the media sector, particularly those facing social or economic barriers as well as working with Rutledge Group Coleraine to allow some of their students as well as students from Northern Regional College to learn from the team. Through hands-on experience in photography, video editing and digital content creation, participants gained new skills and confidence. Producing Positive Media Content for Local Causes Aspire Media produced and shared a number of community-focused media projects. In late 2023 and early 2024, we created video content for Focus on Family & Millburn Primary School. These projects helped raise awareness of important local initiatives and gave community groups a professional platform to tell their stories. Supporting Inclusive Sport through Media In 2024, we partnered with the Causeway Giants Wheelchair Basketball Club to create promotional and awareness content, highlighting both the sport and the inclusive impact it has on local young people and adults with disabilities. Expanding Aspire Media TV Our online community TV platform continues to grow, offering a free digital space for local organisations and individuals to share their talents, events and impact. Launching a Community Podcast We launched the Aspiring Businesses & Communities podcast, which gives a voice to local entrepreneurs, non-profits and community leaders. While it is in the works, we have more episodes planned with One of our featured interviews in 2025 as a collaborative episode with The Cedar Foundation, promoting their services and community impact. Ongoing Project Development Pre-production work has continued on Jack’s Kingdom, a forthcoming video series exploring the scenic beauty of the Causeway Coast and Glens through the eyes of a local man and his dog. This project is being developed with the goal of promoting local tourism, wellbeing, and storytelling from a grassroots perspective. All activity remains underpinned by our commitment to reinvest profits into further community engagement, skills development, and storytelling projects that uplift voices across the region.
Our key stakeholders continue to be our clients, alongside the students and volunteers who support our media production work. During this financial year, our primary clients were Focus on Family and Causeway Giants Wheelchair Basketball Club, both of whom we supported in delivering positive, purpose-driven media content. For Focus on Family, we produced a series of video features that captured the charity’s day-to-day work and encouraged wider community engagement. Our partnership with Causeway Giants WBC focused on promoting inclusive sport through media, highlighting players’ stories and increasing awareness of wheelchair basketball locally. We engaged consistently with stakeholders throughout each project to ensure their goals were met and their feedback integrated. All requested edits and refinements were carried out collaboratively and to the highest standard possible. To strengthen impact and streamline delivery, we focused efforts on growing our core platforms of Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, while scaling back activity on less effective channels. This targeted approach has helped grow over 66,000 impressions achieved across our core social media accounts over the year. Aspire Media N.I. CIC also provided hands-on media experience to four placement students from Rutledge. Each student gained practical exposure to filming, editing, planning, and producing content as part of their structured placement. This reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting skills development and real-world learning for those exploring media careers. While two regular volunteers contributed significantly earlier in the year, they have since progressed to new opportunities. Aspire Media N.I. CIC is now led solely by its two main directors, who continue to operate the organisation on a fully voluntary basis. No remuneration has been taken, and all income has been reinvested into equipment and infrastructure to support high-quality content creation. Where required, out-of-pocket expenses such as travel or meals for longer filming sessions have been reimbursed.
