ISupportedHousing HUB CIC, located in the West Midlands, assists individuals dealing with mental health challenges. Since its opening on October 25, 2021, the company has provided housing for residents facing mental health challenges. They offer support to help these residents acquire the necessary skills for independent living, enabling them to access the private rented sector and find employment, thus reducing reliance on the benefit system. We’ve assisted residents in accessing benefits and housing systems, while also developing customized support plans to help them acquire the necessary skills for independent living. This approach reduces their reliance on welfare assistance. We collaborate with charitable organizations (CICs) to receive donations that fund essential services for our residents, covering day-to-day requirements and support. Additionally, we’ve received grants and donations from both organizations and individuals to further enhance our services. Our goal is to assist residents in transitioning to their own accommodation and securing employment, reducing their reliance on the benefit system. Additionally, we’ve established reliable networks with referral agencies across the West Midlands, facilitating referrals for residents who require support and managing housing waiting lists. We’ve conducted presentations within networks to educate others about the workings of supported living and how they can contribute properties to assist those in the local community. At present, we manage 8 properties, accommodating 25 service users simultaneously. Additionally, we’ve established a property pipeline that will be sustainably onboarded to provide housing for more residents in need, aligning with our future plans to address the growing demand within the community
ISupportedHousing HUB CIC have a board who they report activity to and receive advice from in order to run and grow the organisation. The Board meet twice a year face to face and then communicate via correspondence in between meetings where they can provide a steer where the organisation has anything they need to have clarified. Taking actions based on their responses is helping the CIC to grow sustainably in order to house and support those facing mental health issues. Each board member has their own unique specialism. All residents who are housed with the organisation know they can feedback any issue or wins which are taken into account and responded to. Residents have regular support sessions and wellbeing checks and can also contact their support workers at any time if they wish to discuss any issues they have during their stay with the provision. All requests are actioned in a timely manner. The organisation has also linked into local community networks such as food banks, community centres, mental health services, NHS services and training academies to in order to improve services for residents and build trusted network. As the CIC receives donations and grants, we publicise what the donations and grants have been used for on social media, so people who donate can see what use is being made with the donations made. We meet with our accountant and keep them up to date on the finances of the organisation via reporting systems
