The company runs The Saving Grace Collective, a non-profit social enterprise, working with people from a variety of backgrounds mainly focussed locally (including young people and adults at risk of financial, social, cultural, sexual orientation, gender-based exclusion). The Saving Grace Collective provides access to music, film and multimedia projects as a tool to engage people in both formal and informal settings. We aim to develop and enrich young people’s and developing artists' technical skills, knowledge, experience, aspirations, achievements, self-esteem, social skills and confidence. During the financial year of 1st November 2023 - 31st October 2024, The Saving Grace Collectives activities have benefited the community in the following ways: We have worked with 90 Local artists and providing opportunities to promote, perform and showcase their music across kirklees. We have hired the services of 8 local businesses and has provided employment for 6 local freelancers / residents. We have provided volunteering opportunities for 8 people on our projects. We have worked with the local council in order to deliver a variety of local music based projects to the community. 10 local aspiring artists and bands have gained paid live performance opportunities. 4 local artists were provided professionally recorded live studio performances that were promoted online to the general public. We have worked with 20+ Live venues across Kirklees to enable performance opportunities. We have collaborated with 72 passive venues across Kirklees in order to support local music. We have had over 100 attendees attend our showcase event. We’ve also conducted a significant amount of research, evaluation and data analysis in order to best assess outcomes and plan to expand future project delivery.
The Saving Grace Collective identifies the following key stakeholders who are significantly affected by or contribute to the company's activities: Artists (aspiring / established): The musicians and bands who participate in our projects, directly benefiting from and shaping our creative output. Creative & Industry Professionals: Individuals and organizations that apply to participate in our projects delivery, critical to the successful execution of our initiatives. General public / Audience: Individuals who listen to local musicians and attend events, representing our ultimate beneficiaries and cultural impact. The Community: The local community where the company operates, including residents, businesses, organisations & creative freelancers, providing the environment and resources for our operations. Local Government / Councils: Relevant local authorities who may provide funding, grants, regulatory support, or have an interest in local cultural development. Educational Institutions: Schools, colleges, and universities that may serve as sources of emerging talent, offer facilities, or provide educational partnerships. Funding Bodies / Sponsors: Organisations or individuals who provide financial support, grants, or sponsorship to enable projects and operations. Consultation with Stakeholders: To ensure our activities are responsive to the needs of the local music and creative community, The Saving Grace Collective employs a multi-faceted approach to stakeholder consultation, utilising the following key techniques: Post-Project Questionnaires: Following the completion of each project, participants are requested to complete a concise questionnaire designed to capture feedback on their experience, learning outcomes, and suggestions for future project improvements. (e.g., achieving an average 80% completion rate, providing consistent quantitative and qualitative data). Targeted 1-2-1 Discussions: In-depth, one-on-one discussions (conducted via email, phone, or video call) are held with key, engaged participants and community leaders to gather more nuanced feedback on successful elements and areas for improvement. Prospective Artist Outreach: Proactive consultations are conducted with local aspiring and established artists who have not yet collaborated with The Saving Grace Collective, specifically to ascertain future project interests and required support. Venue & Business Partnerships Feedback: Dialogue is maintained with local businesses and venues involved in our projects to assess and maximise future project impact for all parties. Council Member Meetings: Organising periodic meetings or forums to discuss broader community needs, gather diverse perspectives, and share updates on the Collective's plans and impact. Social Media Engagement Analysis: Monitoring and analyzing comments, messages, and engagement metrics across social media platforms to understand public sentiment, identify emerging trends, and respond to direct inquiries. Partnerships with Local Organisations: Regular meetings and collaborative planning with other community groups, arts organisations, and local charities to align efforts and address shared objectives. The cumulative data gathered through these methods consistently highlights a significant need among talented local artists for professional recording, mixing, promotion, and marketing resources. Actions Taken in Response to Feedback: The valuable insights derived from both formal and informal consultations have directly informed and shaped The Saving Grace Collective's strategic responses, leading to the implementation of the following key initiatives: Enhanced Artist Development: In direct response to feedback regarding resource gaps, we are bolstering our internal resources and external network to significantly increase support for artists. This includes securing additional studio time and expanding the variety of performance venues available. Optimised Project Presentation and Delivery: Feedback from artists, participants, and the wider community has led to a refinement of our project presentation strategies and delivery methodologies, ensuring they align more closely with stakeholder preferences. Increased Engagement and Outreach: To enhance public visibility and participation, we are organising a greater number of events and implementing a more robust promotional strategy, leveraging our websites, social media platforms, and network of partner organisations. Expanded Community Integration: We are actively broadening our engagement with local businesses, organisations, and creative practitioners involved in community initiatives to deepen our collective impact. Mentorship and Skill-Building Programs: Developing structured mentorship opportunities and workshops (e.g., songwriting, music production, marketing fundamentals) to address specific skill development needs identified by aspiring artists and professionals. Resource Hub Development: Creating an accessible online and/or physical hub that consolidates information on available grants, funding opportunities, legal advice, and industry contacts for local artists. Advocacy for Local Music Policy: Engaging with local government and cultural bodies to advocate for policies and initiatives that further support the local music and creative ecosystem, addressing systemic challenges identified through consultations. By prioritizing informal feedback and community engagement, The Saving Grace Collective aims to foster stronger relationships with its stakeholders and ensure the long-term success of the business
