  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

Tangible fixed assets are measured at cost less accumulative depreciation and any accumulative impairment losses. Depreciation is provided on all tangible fixed assets, other than freehold land, at rates calculated to write off the cost, less estimated residual value, of each asset evenly over its expected useful life, as follows: Land & buildings - Buildings over 25 years Leasehold improvements over 10 years Fixtures & fittings over 3 years Computer equipment over 3 years

    Other accounting policies

During the year, the company reviewed the accounting treatment of a government grant that had previously been recognised as a liability on the balance sheet. In accordance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements, the grant has now been released to the profit and loss account and included within other operating income. The total amount released to the profit and loss account in the year ended 31 March 2025 was £1,485,000. This adjustment ensures the grant income is recognised in line with the related expenditure and reflects the correct application of the relevant accounting standards.
