During this financial year we have delivered the first stage of a major coding and educational electronics project called Bin Bots. The project seeks to improve accessibility for people with disability, so that it is easier for people with disabilities to engage with educational practical coding and electronics workshops. The project looked at ways to improve physical and visual accessibility for people with physical and learning disabilities. It involved running electronics and coding workshops, engaging our local community here at our base in Singleton Environmental Centre Ashford. Local children, parents and educators took part in the workshops. A lot was learnt during the first stage of this project, enabling us to design and prototype new more accessible electronic circuit boards, connectors and supporting educational coding resources.
Our Stakeholders are our coders (students with disabilities ) and our local community at Singleton Environmental Centre Ashford Kent. We have been constantly seeking advice and feedback from our Stakeholders in order to adapt and hone our approach. We delivered workshops run in collaboration with our Stakeholder Singleton Environmental Centre Ashford Kent.
