During the financial year, Green Paths Environmental Education CIC has continued to provide inclusive outdoor education and wellbeing programmes designed to connect people with nature, improve mental health, and support lifelong learning. Our work primarily benefits children, young people, and families in North Devon, with a focus on those facing barriers to education or wellbeing, including Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, low income, and social isolation. Key activities have included: Forest School and Outdoor Learning Sessions – Delivered weekly for home-educated children and local schools, promoting environmental awareness, creativity, and resilience through hands-on learning. Wellbeing and SEMH Support – Trauma-informed nature sessions designed to build confidence, reduce anxiety, and encourage emotional regulation. SEN Advocacy and Inclusive Provision – Tailored programmes to meet diverse needs, ensuring equitable access to outdoor learning for neurodivergent and disabled participants. Family and Community Events – Seasonal events and workshops, often in partnership with organisations such as the National Trust, aimed at strengthening family bonds and community connection. Environmental Engagement – Activities such as bushcraft, nature crafts, and conservation projects that inspire care for the environment and local heritage. Community Benefit and Impact: Our programmes have supported over [insert number] participants this year, with measurable improvements in confidence, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing. Families report reduced isolation, children demonstrate improved resilience and engagement with learning, and participants develop a stronger sense of belonging and connection to nature. As a CIC, all income is reinvested into expanding access to our services, developing new inclusive resources, and building community partnerships that create long-term impact.
Our primary stakeholders include: Children and Young People participating in our programmes (including those with SEN/SEMH needs) Parents and Carers, including home-educating families Local Schools and Education Providers Community Partners, such as the National Trust and local authorities Funders and Support Organisations Local Community Groups and Volunteers How we have consulted them: Regular Feedback Forms and Surveys following sessions to capture experiences, needs, and suggestions Direct Conversations during sessions and community events to ensure inclusivity and responsiveness Email Communication and Social Media Engagement for ongoing updates and feedback opportunities Partnership Meetings with local organisations to shape collaborative projects and ensure alignment with community needs Actions taken in response to feedback: Adapted Sessions for Inclusivity: Based on feedback from parents and carers, we introduced additional sensory-friendly activities, visual supports, and flexible participation options for neurodivergent children. Extended Programme Offer: Responding to demand from home-educating families, we launched a structured term-time nature learning programme. Improved Accessibility: Adjusted session times, pricing models, and location accessibility in response to community feedback. Enhanced Communication: Introduced clear booking systems and pre-session information packs to reduce barriers for families. This ongoing consultation ensures that our activities remain relevant, accessible, and impactful for those who need them most.
