COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

RACKET SPORTS ACADEMY CIC

Company Number: 12241757 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 October 2024

Company activities and impact

This year we started our strategy to enhance the offering from a community aspect for inclusive tennis. We are now beginning to deliver sessions to various SEND schools throughout the community. We are also trying to be shortlisted to have two of the coaching team to be specifically trained in aspects of girls youth coaching, to deliver specific girls only based sessions due to the high drop out level of girls in tennis. We also beginning to set up a ‘free schools meals’ session element to our programme after we have offered a range of sessions to various primary schools within the community and have communicated to them about what it involves for the pupils.

Consultation with stakeholders

We continue a strong long lasting relationship with the towns tennis club and also continue to co-develop ways in which more people can access tennis sessions within the community. We have engaged with more local schools to understand how we can help provide an accessible experience for children for all ages. We have also linked with the Local parkrun in Lowestoft to provide a ‘off court’ training ground to help and assist health and wellbeing and also mental resilience. We have begun talks to possibly help in getting a junior specific Parkrun in the town.
