COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

TAMIR WELFARE ORGANIZATION C.I.C.

Company Number: 11021543 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 October 2024

Company activities and impact

Tamir Welfare Organization C.I.C. continued its work to promote disability rights and support vulnerable communities in Faisalabad during the financial year 2023–2024. Our activities benefited the community in the following ways: -30 children with multiple disabilities received inclusive education through Al-Barkat School for Special Education, using individualised learning plans, assistive technology, and adapted teaching methods. -An on-site physiotherapist provided both school-based therapy and outpatient sessions, supporting rehabilitation for children enrolled in the school and those from surrounding communities. -Our Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) programme assisted over 300 families with physiotherapy, mobility aids, health and education support, and access to public services. Parents were also trained to continue therapy at home. -During Ramadan, we distributed food aid to 200 vulnerable families, improving their food security and wellbeing. -The Rosie Project supported blind individuals and families of children with Down syndrome, enhancing social inclusion and dignity. -Allied Bank Limited (Pakistan) has been a long-standing supporter of Tamir Welfare Organization’s programmes in Pakistan. Their generous contributions have helped sustain the operations of Al-Barkat School by covering staff salaries and running costs. They have also funded medical camps, educational materials, student scholarships and sports. As the UK-based coordinating body, Tamir Welfare Organization C.I.C. supports, guides, and monitors these activities in line with its social mission. -Our UK-based partner, Omniya Trust, continued to strengthen our education and welfare and humanitarian programmes through valuable support, enabling us to sustain critical services throughout the year. -We represented Pakistan in an international disability delegation hosted by Rehabilitation International Korea, promoting global collaboration in inclusive education and rehabilitation. -We continued our advocacy for clean water and sanitation (WASH) in underserved areas of Faisalabad, where access to basic services remains limited. Despite financial challenges, our inclusive and rights-based programmes have delivered lasting impact. We aim to expand the Rosie Project, scale up our WASH initiatives, and build new partnerships that promote dignity, equity, and locally led development.

Consultation with stakeholders

During the financial year 1 November 2023 to 31 October 2024, Tamir Welfare Organization CIC regularly communicated with key stakeholders including beneficiaries, families, school staff, therapists, community members, and donors. At Al-Barkat School for Special Education, we met with parents and caregivers to review student progress and adjust education and therapy plans. Our physiotherapist and teachers worked closely with families to support home-based care. Through our Community-Based Rehabilitation program, we gathered informal feedback during outreach visits, medical camps, and aid distributions. This helped us improve services for over 300 families and identify urgent needs such as clean water and sanitation. Donors including Allied Bank Limited Pakistan, Omniya Trust, and Rehabilitation International Korea received updates and were consulted on programme direction and collaboration. Their input helped shape project plans and delivery. We continue to prioritise the voices of persons with disabilities and their families, involving them in the design and improvement of our services.
