STRIDE FOR TRUTH CIC Company Number 14775353 Directors 2024-25 Ann Rogers (Chair) Jacqui Mitchell Suzy Bush (resigned 4th April 2025) Margaret Patrick (appointed 12th April 2025) COMMUNITY INTEREST REPORT Uniting communities together across our world Our mission: The overall aim is to encourage communication and integration within a community; to develop relationships within and across the age groups; to encourage acceptance and tolerance of each other irrespective of age, ethnic origin or gender. All our activities are open to everyone in the community with the aim of bringing people of all ages and backgrounds together. In bringing the community together in this way we aim to give people back a sense of belonging, a sense of unity rather than isolation and division. Our activities in the last year, and their impact on the community: Over the last year, we have held four community parties, which take place at key times of the year (such as Christmas, Easter and Halloween) and as such provide the opportunity for whole communities to come together in the spirit of happiness, enjoyment and support. These parties are mainly aimed at children, and consist of stalls, food and fun activities run by our volunteers. It also provides the chance for children from all backgrounds to come together, celebrate and have fun at times of the year when it can be difficult for some. A particularly significant party was our Cultural Christmas Extravaganza, which came together to unite various groups within the community, in a Christmas celebration which bridged cultural divide and differences within this local area. We have continued to hold community walks at various locations, which are always well-attended and enjoyed by all. The intention of these is to provide an opportunity for people to come together whilst also enjoying the benefits of nature and the countryside. On the theme of both physical and mental wellbeing, we have continued our FunFit fitness sessions, still running twice a week. These embed both fun activities and games, aimed at all ages and physical abilities, within vital fitness practices, aiming to promote both healthy living and positive mental well-being. We have also hosted, more frequently, our quiz nights, games nights and social evenings. These have included either the opportunity to play board games with other people, or to take part in a quiz, or enjoy a social evening together. Many enjoy the chance to just relax and have fun. Over the last 12 months, we have hosted 24 public meetings, which provide an opportunity to ask questions, listen to a speaker and discuss a wide range of issues. These are open to the whole community and cover a wide range of themes; many find this both thought-provoking and interesting. As such events take place in various different areas throughout the year, it invites all to be involved, and to get talking and sharing thoughts. A particularly special evening last year was our Evening with William Roache: The best of his life and times. This was a really enjoyable event, in which we held a Question and Answer session with Coronation Street legend William Roache, also known as Ken Barlow. We received lots of positive feedback on this and it was very well attended.
Consultation with stakeholders: We identify our key stakeholders as being: our volunteers and members of the public who attend our events. Our volunteers are continually given the opportunity to voice ideas, opinions or concerns should they have them. All volunteers have an opportunity to raise questions or thoughts at our monthly volunteer team meetings. We take feedback from members of the public at every major event we run: both informally to our team as well as formally, recorded in our feedback books. Some of the feedback we have received from our events over the last 12 months has included: Absolutely fabulous atmosphere, great stalls, music, games, cakes and drinks. Think Halloween is my favourite party, but they are all brilliant. Fun, joyful and zingy - lovely to see happy children dancing, playing, socialising and having fun. Magical day, fun, happiness and laughter. Thank you. What a lovely place to be. So much thought has gone into this wonderful event. Loads to do. Beautiful atmosphere, nowhere better to be.
