During the reporting period, WINDRUSH COMMONWEALTH SERVICE - OXFORD CIC actively engaged with key stakeholders in the Windrush Community in Oxford. This included regular planning meetings and coordination of forthcoming community events and initiatives. The company also provided support to a local community member with a Windrush case involving his mother. This included assisting with enquiries submitted to the Windrush Help Team at the Home Office.
Ongoing consultations were held with the Oxford Windrush Group to identify and advance the needs of the Windrush Generation in Oxford and nationally. Additionally, we commenced the first stage of development for a Windrush-themed stage play, which aims to educate and raise awareness around the experiences of the Windrush.
A total of £1,500 was received as director remuneration during the reporting year. This was paid for professional services provided in the role of actor, screenwriter, and theatre director.
