The CIC was set up in the financial year and a website created in addition to a fundraiser in early August in order to acquire the funds to run a community music provision within a shared community independent retail space. The first Feedback event was run earlier in the year. During the financial year 2023-2024 the CIC has benefited the community in numerous ways: - Supporting on a 1to1 and weekly basis at risk youth between the ages of 15-17 were supported with their wellbeing, mental and physical health. - On the 30th of March an event was staged to deliver opportunities for young artists to perform in front of a live audience in a professional setting in the centre of Bristol, 14 young people performed and approximately 35 members of the community were fed. - Supporting adults with drugs and alcohol problems facilitating their integration back into society and to their families after incarceration.
The company’s stakeholders are residents of Bristol. The directors of the company have lived in Bristol for a number of years and developed the business model for the youth working and music provision based on their experience of talking to young people, schools and residents. We ask all young people to offer feedback about their sessions. This has allowed us to better support our patrons needs and what we can do to meet them more effectively. This research has enabled us to identify that there are hundreds of at risk youth without access to support, specifically with regards to music provision and many more in dire need of mental and physical wellbeing support. There are many barriers to them accessing the work that we and other provide in the city, from their living circumstances to their emotional and financial. We encourage young people to become active patrons in the evolution of Feedback Community Projects CIC and find it vital to our work that we co-create projects and spaces with our patrons.
