Share Home Community CIC is a social enterprise that aims to help with loneliness and living costs for people living on their own, improving their way of life. The means to doing this is by providing opportunities for people to share a home together and receive ongoing support. Home sharing supports vulerable people within the community and helps to relieve pressures on the availability of local housing. The company started promoting the service during 2024 and established the legal framework and agreements to set up home shares. In addition, the processes were set in place to identify vulnerable people that would benefit from the service.
During the period there has been consultation with local authorities in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire and with Social Subscriber networks. There has also been cosultation with Age UK and other agencies that give support to older isolated people. These consultations have helped to identify the vulnerable people who would benefit from sharing a home together and to estabish the framework and agreements needed.
