1.Accounting policies
Statutory information
The company is a private limited company incorporated in England. Its registered number is 5664857. Its registered office and principal place of business is No 1 Railshead Road, St Margarets, Old Isleworth, Middlesex, TW7 7EP. The company is controlled jointly by Galliard Homes Limited and Saltees Properties Limited. (In administration) The financial statements are presented in sterling, which is the functional currency of the company.
Statement of compliance
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Companies Act 2006 and FRS 102 The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland including Section 1A Small Entities.
Turnover policy
Turnover represents gross income receivable, excluding VAT, on the sale of development properties, and the provision of related services. Profits or losses on the sale of development properties are recognised on the completion of contracts for sale.
Finance costs
Interest on borrowings is charged to the profit and loss account when incurred. Other finance costs are charged over the term of the debt.
Current taxation
The current tax charge is based on taxable profit for the year, using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the reporting date.
Deferred tax
Deferred tax balances are recognised for all timing differences, at rates that are expected to apply in the period when the liability is settled or the asset is realised. Deferred tax is charged or credited in the profit and loss account.
Investments
Investments in subsidiaries, associates and joint ventures are measured at cost less any accumulated impairment losses. Listed investments are measured at fair value where the difference between cost and fair value is material. Unlisted investments are measured at fair value unless the value cannot be measured reliably, in which case they are measured at cost less any accumulated impairment losses. Changes in fair value are included in the profit and loss account.
Stocks and work in progress
Stocks of property developments are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value. Cost includes the purchase and subsequent expenditure specifically attributable to a development property.
