COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

TWO KINGS BOXING CLUB C.I.C.

Company Number: 13976273 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 March 2025

Company activities and impact

The company continues to serve two main purposes the first is for the children and teenagers in the local community and the second is to counteract the anti-social behaviour which has been prevalent in recent years. The club also continues to give support and training to adults who are experiencing mental health problems. All club fees for training are set so local children and adults are able to afford them. The club was formed from two derelict changing rooms within the Recreation Ground. The Ground itself continues to be under the care of the Friends of the Recreation Ground. This resulted in restored tennis courts, new children’s play area, a running track and an outdoor gym for the adults. The benefits from these have been seen by the number of children and adults undertaking the training at the Club and to the number of local residents using the other facilities. Local residents have continued to confirm that the Recreation Ground is now being used far more often and the fact that the Boxing Gym is in constant use and well maintained (having previously been two derelict buildings which were targeted by local children and anti-social behaviour including drug taking) it is a much safer environment. The club has continued to develop and In August 2024 the club passed its inspection and became a fully affiliated member of England Boxing having put in place all the relevant legal requirements. During 2025 two of our coaches worked very hard to gain their Level 2 Coaching Certificates adding to the wealth of Knowledge available to the club members.

Consultation with stakeholders

The stakeholders are local people, adults and children. Apart from the daily activities on the site a variety of events have been held, these include open fun days which have been attended by the Mayor of Kingston-upon-Thames, a family park run, boxing/fitness demonstrations by the Boxing Club also open training sessions for the local residents. We continue to listen to the voice of the local community and value their continued support. We hope to add more fitness programmes in the future, these would include gentle exercise for the elderly as it is known that exercise is of great benefit, not only from the physical side but also the mental side.
