The company has continued to build the campaign to reopen the Amulet Theatre, which is town's only large scale community venue. We have raised development grants from national funders which has been used to commission reports and surveys from professionals, to strengthen our case for capital funding. The company has undertaken public consultation on our plans through events, surveys and online research. We were shortlisted by our local authority for significant capital funding from the Levelling Up Fund, only for this fund to cancelled by the change of national government.
We have consulted with the residents of Shepton Mallet on our plans to reopen the Amulet Theatre. The consultation took place at a number of public events, online and on paper during June & July 2024. We presented our ideas for how the building will be used in the future and what activities will take plce there. We collected anonomous data on demographics to ensure that our samples were representative.
