The company’s activities and impact Friendly Faces Disability Support CIC Friendly Faces Disability Support CIC is dedicated to supporting the disabled community of Wolverhampton including individuals with disabilities, their families, and carers regardless of the nature or severity of the disability. As a growing organisation, we recognise the wide spectrum of disabilities and the vast range of needs, and we are continually expanding our support accordingly. Where we are unable to meet a specific need directly, we remain transparent and proactively signpost individuals to other relevant and appropriate services. Our services include peer support delivered through online platforms, telephone conversations, and face-to-face interactions. We host regular coffee mornings which provide a safe space for socialising, engaging in various activities, and accessing vital information and signposting from other local services. We facilitate well-being activities whenever possible and organise two community trips each year, supported by donated tickets from external providers. For individuals in crisis or experiencing hardship, we offer emergency support packages that include food and household essentials. These packages are made possible through public donations and generous support from the Black Country Food Bank. Additionally, we distribute small well-being parcels during key seasonal events Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day. These parcels, containing small donated gifts collected throughout the year, are a way of letting individuals know they are valued and not alone.
Feedback from stakeholders plays an essential role in shaping the services offered by Friendly Faces Disability Support CIC. One example of stakeholder engagement is reflected in the following statement from a family supported by the group: “We have been a part of the Friendly Faces Disability Support group for just over a year now. As a family, we have been supported through having someone to listen to our struggles and helping with solutions where they can. We have been surprised with Christmas presents, Easter gifts, and Mother’s and Father’s Day gifts. The group is there for all of us no matter the age or disability and we are so glad we found a group that wants to and does understand us. Thank you so much to Han McCormack and all her great team of volunteers.” This type of feedback is regularly received and actively informs the ongoing development and delivery of services. It highlights the positive impact and reinforces the importance of remaining community-led and responsive to the needs of those we serve.
