Company activities and impact

During the financial year, Techniques Football Development C.I.C has continued to expand its offering and range of football sessions, continuing a strong focus on providing more opportunities for girls to play football in deprived areas. Our main sessions are still in the Hackney and Islington boroughs of North London but we have also moved as far afield as Surrey as well as West and Central London. We are particularly delighted with the success of our Squad Girls sessions for girls aged 12-14 years in the Westminster area which was provided in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police. We have been able to continue to foster social inclusion & cohesion and promote physical and mental well-being plus create a sense of community. We have continued our work with another football charity in Haringey to provide free girls only football sessions in an area where the provision of this is very limited. This has ensured the girls are still able to access excellent football facilities and pitches to play on and we have also arranged to make the clubhouse more female friendly. We have managed to create closer links with schools in Haringey and run free sessions for the girls in these schools. We have further expanded the number of schools we work in which has had a hugely positive impact on the local community. We will continue to grow this work in 2025-26 especially as the Women’s European Championships are taking place which will see interest amongst girls playing football continue to grow.

Consultation with stakeholders

Consultation with stakeholders Our stakeholders include: Participants of our sessions - Girls and Boys Parents and guardians of young participants Local schools London FA. Method of consultation - Meetings with teachers and London FA - Questionnaires for participants and parents Action taken from feedback – we continue to improve the case study we produced last year which has shown the positive feedback we have received about our girls football sessions in schools in the most deprived communities. We have amended days and timings of our sessions to reflect the needs of the communities we operate in. We continue to be in dialogue with the London FA to look for ways of expanding our initiatives and sessions to all parts of London.
