The company was established in late Jan 2020, with a view to building delivery in Autumn 2020. Due to the almost immediate onset of Covid restrictions after the company was formed, we have not been able to build nor deliver work as planned. The company is currently dormant, but planning and development activities began in FY 2022/23. Two major project that are in planning include a new bee tourism facility in Lancashire and an ecotourism adventure program across Lancashire (and potentially the wider North West). Progress with these projects is reliant on support from South Ribble Council, and discussions continue. An initial plan to engage the catchment in wider biodiversity and pollinator activities is currently being developed with the authority. We are awaiting details of potential funding for 2024. Progress will be further expanded on in the 2025 statement. We are also exploring the inclusion of several corporate partners in this program. Our inclusion in the 2021 submission for funded work to enhance Lancashire eco-tourism and ecological development as part of the Lancashire 2025 campaign was not progressed as the overall bid was discontinued by Lancashire County Council. This impacted all of the proposed participants in the project. Discussions with SRBC to deploy bee-themed attractions and informative displays across the catchment continues and look positive. The intended location for initial deployment is along the south bank of the river Ribble, to the West of the Capitol Centre. Budgeting is taking place and we hope to have confirmation in Autumn 2025. Due to bridge repairs the site will in fact be closed until 2026, however panning progresses for an early start as soon as safety works have concluded. Whilst the company has been making plans to develop activities it does not have a bank account and has remains financially dormant to date.
