The CIC operates the community bar space located within Clungunford Village Hall and its primary business is the sale of beverages and pre-packaged snacks. The building is owned by Clungunford Village Hall (CVH), a registered charity which also controls the CIC. The CIC’s primary purposes are to: Operate the community bar space to create a meeting place for the local community and support hirers of the village hall and the fundraising events by CVH. Provide a community space. The bar is open every Friday evening and on special occasions. The bar is entirely staffed and run by a roster of 16 local trained volunteers. Through this we have been able to create a meeting place for local residents that helps form the basis of the local community and has also raised funds to support the wider activities and maintenance of the Hall.
CONSULTATION WITH STAKEHOLDERS CIC’s immediate stakeholders are the trustees of CVH who receive reports on the CIC’s commercial activities monthly. The public stakeholders of the CIC are the local residents and customers of the CIC. The CIC undertakes several consultations with public stakeholders: Through using local volunteers who are recruited by word of mouth or via CVH’s volunteering email lists or the local community newspaper. Ask members of the public for their feedback. This is during bar opening times and recorded by volunteers. Alternatively, formal feedback can be sent to CVH by email, post or telephone. The CIC holds an annual free social event where all the wider CVH and the CIC volunteers are invited, we also advertise this to the wider community to encourage new participants.
