In its inaugural year, the organisation’s community engagement efforts laid a strong foundation for meaningful relationships with existing community hubs and key stakeholders, including local schools. This strategic focus was driven by our commitment to providing safe, inclusive spaces dedicated to cultural education and skills development for children and their families, regardless of background or ethnicity. The organisation was warmly welcomed by community partners, establishing an environment conducive to collaboration. While no immediate business transactions occurred in the initial months following our launch in November 2023, the partnerships fostered during this period laid critical groundwork for future growth. These early collaborations not only enhanced community trust but also resulted in initial income streams in the subsequent year and ultimately contributed to securing our first grant from Black Culture Collective CIC (a grant manager for Peabody Thamesmead) for a cultural project in 2024 (shown in the P&L income statement). Other income generated in the year was activities carried out by directors for other community hubs. Throughout 2024, the organisation actively engaged over 100 children across diverse cultural and skills-building workshops, in collaboration with community hubs and educational institutions. Feedback from both partners and participants has been overwhelmingly positive, affirming that our programs are filling gaps as well as effectively creating safe spaces where children can build confidence, develop skills, and forge meaningful connections. Additionally, our adult workshops have played a vital role in reducing social isolation and fostering cohesion within our diverse community. The company’s projection for 2025 appears promising and exciting, with the trust built across partners, funders, stakeholders and the communities who directly benefit from every project. The organisation is aiming to recruit support staff and involve more volunteers as well as become a hub for work experience and placements for young students in the coming year.
Feedback is weaved into the organisation’s culture and growth strategy where we listen, reflect and revisit our ethos and offerings in order to continue to benefit the community we serve. Parents have requested a long-term project for secondary school students. This feedback we have taken on board and aim to implement in the coming year, given availability of funding. Other stakeholders have also advised that our offerings should visit more schools to embed mentoring activities within the academic setting. This we have taken on board for the next year.
The directors only get paid for the work carried out within the organisation. The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £2200. This is stated in the company’s profit and loss account within the administrative cost. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for the director's loss of office, which required to be disclosed.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
