Company activities and impact

In this financial year, Social By Design CIC operated primarily as a social impact consultancy, supporting organizations that work with refugees, asylum seekers, and marginalized communities. We specialize in the design and delivery of training programmes, including digital literacy, online safety, storytelling, and community engagement. Our work is shaped by lived experience and a commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and meaningful impact. As a newly established CIC, one of our key achievements this year was the successful delivery of our Digital Literacy and Online Safety Project in Greater Manchester. This project was funded by two grants, which were used entirely for project delivery - covering curriculum development, multilingual workshop facilitation, outreach, and training resources. The programme supported over 30 participants, many of whom were newly arrived in the UK and faced significant digital exclusion. Our workshops helped individuals gain confidence in using digital tools, understand how to stay safe online, access essential services, and navigate job searching platforms. Sessions were delivered in multiple languages to ensure they were accessible and culturally appropriate. Through this work, we’ve built strong relationships with local partners and demonstrated the value of our consultancy model - offering flexible, tailored training solutions to meet the specific needs of both organizations and their communities.
