In 2023–2024, we supported over 250 individuals. Our weekly ESOL classes helped 85 learners improve English; 35 joined Digital Skills Training, with 78% gaining confidence in using social media. We assisted 43 people with employment support, and 20 participants moved into work, training, or volunteering. Our weekly food distribution supported 85 individuals and 340 family members in and around Ealing Borough, easing food insecurity and strengthening communities. Sixty-two women took part in eight Health and Wellbeing workshops, discussing health issues, breaking down barriers and stigma, reducing loneliness, and improving mental health. We raised MMR vaccine awareness, reaching more than 300 residents through outreach and partnerships with pharmacies. Our campaign built trust, improved vaccine awareness, and promoted healthcare access for families. With NWL Suicide Prevention Grant support, we ran a culturally sensitive campaign tackling mental health stigma and domestic abuse, training volunteers and supporting young people through workshops and mentoring. One participant shared :Thank you for bringing me out from fear to freedom.
Asian Community Concern actively consults a range of stakeholders to ensure our projects are community-led and culturally relevant. A survey was completed with 130 individuals from ethnic minority communities in Ealing, including refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants, whose feedback highlighted key mental health and suicide prevention needs. We held focus groups with past beneficiaries and community members to gain deeper insights into service gaps and gather practical suggestions. Stakeholders also took part in co-design sessions to review and refine project plans, leading to meaningful changes that meet community needs. Many of our Trustees, board members, team leaders, and volunteers have lived experience of the issues they support. Understanding the pain and family challenges involved, they use their voices to educate and empower vulnerable women. Participants reported feeling less isolated through group activities and experienced improved physical and mental health wellbeing.
