Company activities and impact

During the financial year, School Clover Peebles CIC has actively supported the Polish community in Peebles and fostered cultural integration between Polish and Scottish residents. We have delivered regular classes for Polish children, organized cultural and music events, and hosted meetings bringing together Polish and Scottish communities to promote intercultural understanding. - Our activities included regular community clean-up actions involving children, as well as meetings with a psychologist for children and parents. -Our core aim is to support Polish families in their integration with the local society, create opportunities for children to become bilingual, and use history, traditions, and language as tools for building cultural awareness. We receive income from parental contributions for children attending our classes, as well as project funding from both Scottish and Polish sources. This year we expanded the number of children enrolled, the range of our classes, and introduced joint lessons for Polish and Scottish children. Our events regularly attract around two thousand participants, becoming a well-recognized tradition in the community. We have worked in partnership with the National Lottery, the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland, Scottish Borders Council, and CENVO. The impact of our work this year has been significant we have increased visibility, strengthened community ties, and delivered activities of value to the whole community.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders include Polish families living in Peebles and the surrounding areas, local Scottish residents, partner organizations such as the National Lottery, the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland, Scottish Borders Council, and CENVO, as well as schools and community groups collaborating with us. We have consulted stakeholders through regular face-to-face meetings, community events, online communication (including social media and email), and feedback sessions with parents and partner organizations. Children and parents have also been directly involved in shaping activities through discussions during classes and community gatherings. As a result of this feedback, we expanded the range of classes offered, introduced joint lessons for Polish and Scottish children, increased the number of cultural and music events, and organized additional psychological support sessions for families. Stakeholder input has also guided the planning of our community clean-up actions and cultural projects, ensuring they meet the needs and expectations of the local community.
