This may include youth development, the sport of sailing for which Cowes is well known, services to the community, and local environmental sectors. |
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
The pandemic and the retirement of the eminent musician, Richard Studt, continued to impact the activity of Island Concerts, the musical side of the charity and the company limited by guarantee - Island Concerns Limited.
However, during the year the director and trustees decided to invest in an historic 90 year old Bluthner piano, that belonged to a former education officer for music at the BBC, and gift it to Holy Trinity Church, Queens Road, Cowes, with a view to staging more musical events at that church.
The first of such events took place on Saturday 3rd May 2025. It is the plan to stage more musical events at Holy Trinity Church, a venue with wonderful acoustics for the Bluthner piano, as well as choirs and chamber orchestras, in the future.
