Company activities and impact

COMPANY ACTIVITIES AND IMPACT Mozart Drive Community centre is located in a socially deprived area and provides a wide range of activities for both the local Sandfields community and visitors from the wider area. These include social gatherings, fitness classes, and opportunities for multi-generational and multi faith engagement. KEY BENEFITS AND ACHIEVEMENTS Reducing Social Isolation The centre creates a welcoming space for residents to meet, connect, and build supportive networks. This is particularly valuable for older residents, many of whom attend our OAP group as their main source of social interaction. Promoting Cultural Understanding By hosting events for different faiths and cultural groups, the centre fosters integration and mutual understanding across the community. Improving Mental and Physical Wellbeing Our fitness and dance classes encourage regular exercise, helping to reduce obesity and related health issues while improving mental health and reducing stress. Lifelong Learning and Youth Support We run workshops and educational programs that help people develop new skills. Many local young people use the centre as a safe study space, keeping them engaged, off the streets, and away from anti-social Volunteering and Employment The centre offers volunteer opportunities, some of which have led to paid work. Volunteers also help deliver community events, attracting visitors and benefiting nearby businesses. Reducing Anti-Social Behaviour By providing safe, supervised activities, including dance classes for over 100 children, we give young people positive alternatives to crime and gang involvement. Information and Support Access We act as a distribution point for information about local services, food banks, healthcare, and housing support. Celebrating Diversity Events such as South Asian cultural celebrations, Black History Month, and Windrush commemorations have strengthened community bonds. These gatherings bring entertainment, pride, and inclusion to an area where such opportunities are often limited. Celebration of Success One of our proudest achievements is the success of the Mozart Drive Dance School. Many children and young people who began their journey with us have progressed to study dance and performing arts at prestigious universities and conservatoires across the UK. Several have gone on to establish successful professional careers within the arts, becoming inspiring role models for the next generation in our community. This ongoing success is a testament to the talent, dedication, and hard work of our young people, as well as the encouragement and support provided by the centre and its volunteers.

Consultation with stakeholders

Consultation with Stakeholders Our stakeholders include local residents and centre visitors. We actively gather feedback through Social Media Engagement; Questionnaires; Verbal Feedback during events and interactions. Staff maintain strong relationships with residents and user groups. Feedback is shared at monthly staff meetings, where we review suggestions and discuss improvements. Positive feedback has highlighted: - Excellent communication - Good parking facilities - Spacious main hall with high ceilings - Accessibility, including disability access - Flexible opening times to meet the needs of local groups We remain committed to listening to our community and adapting our services to meet evolving need
