COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

LOUTH TOWN ACTION GROUP CIC

Company Number: 15283108 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 28 February 2025

Company activities and impact

Louth is a market town in rural Lincolnshire with a population of just below 20,000. The purpose of the Company is to add to both the community spirit and appearance of Louth and to create an environment that encourages more people to use the town’s shops and fa-cilities, thus keeping our town alive as a bustling, thriving community. The Company works closely with the local councils and reminds them of their responsibilities and nudges them to fulfil these responsibilities. By taking a reasonable approach, we have won over their co-operation in many cases. One example is our work with East Lindsey District Council’s ‘Pride of Place’ team around Louth, and we have regularly posted details of their activities on our Facebook page. The Company also actively maintains the environment of the town for the benefit of the residents of and visitors to Louth. During the past twelve months, the Company has supported six volunteer litter pickers by supplying them with the materials they need including high visibility vests and organising insurance cover for them so that they are protected while they are out and about keeping the town tidy. Other activities by the Company during the year have included the removal of un-sightly graffiti and illegal advertising notices, assisting the local council with their Food and Drink Festival and providing road marshals for the Remembrance Day procession, the Can-cer Run for Life and Cancer Santa Fun Run events. In addition, the Company organised a well-attended Victorian Christmas Market with many attractions with an estimated 5,000 people visiting the town, benefiting the shops and cafes as well as the traders themselves, and providing a community event for the people who live in Louth.
