COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

WILD TECHNIQUE C.I.C.

Company Number: 15184759 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 March 2025

Company activities and impact

The company began trading 1 July 2024, and specializes in delivering breakdance classes and promoting Hip-Hop culture across the East Midlands. The organization has provided breakdance classes and performances in Leicester, Nottingham, Spalding, and Lincoln. In Leicester, the company offers breakdance classes to individuals aged 5 and above. In addition to its core programming, the company has partnered with third-party organizations that share a commitment to engaging young people in dance and the arts. The breakdance classes provide children with opportunities to develop physical skills, improve overall fitness, and engage in active lifestyles. Beyond physical benefits, the program fosters social cohesion by bringing together participants from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Through shared experiences in dance, students cultivate mutual respect, build friendships, and gain a deeper appreciation for community and collaboration. The company maintains a network of 3 to 5 local dance artists based in Leicester, offering them employment opportunities to lead and facilitate breakdance sessions. This initiative supports the local creative economy and strengthens the region’s artistic community. Over the past year, the company has recorded more than 50 returning students aged 5 and above across its breakdance classes throughout the East Midlands. This consistent engagement reflects the growing interest and positive impact of the company’s programs.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company maintains regular communication with parents and guardians who enroll their children in our breakdance classes. These conversations help us understand the types of opportunities families would like to experience as well as the outcomes they hope to see from their children's participation. One recurring theme from these discussions was a strong interest in performance opportunities. In response, we partnered with the local charity LOROS to support their fundraising efforts by providing entertainment during a charity run event in Leicester. Students were consulted beforehand to ensure they were comfortable performing, and three performers were available and took part on the day, showcasing their skills along the run route. Additionally, parents and students expressed enthusiasm about participating in breakdance competitions. However, due to limited availability of such events in Leicestershire and challenges such as travel constraints, many were unable to access these opportunities. To address this, we collaborated with a fellow breakdance instructor based in Nuneaton to organize a friendly competition in Leicester. The event featured a 1 vs 1 format and welcomed participants from both Leicester and Nuneaton. The competition saw high engagement from children and adults alike and was widely praised as an excellent introduction to competitive breakdance for first-time participants
