COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

OPENCULINARY C.I.C.

Company Number: SC647817 (Scotland)

Year Ending: 30 November 2024

Company activities and impact

The company continues to operate and maintain RecipeRadar ( https://www.reciperadar.com ), a free and open source recipe search engine that includes meal planning and shopping list functionality. The company did not develop significant new functionality within the period from December 2023 to November 2024. Traffic to the website that hosts the search engine increased during early 2024, peaking at between one thousand and two thousand recipe searches per day in January and February, although web traffic later reduced from April onwards, where it was typically in a range of seven-hundred to nine-hundred recipe searches per day. The company has contributed to efforts to improve the data quality of the OpenFoodFacts dataset, and our director attended the annual OpenFoodFacts conference while traveling in Paris. One hardware replacement occurred in October of 2024 due to errors reported from a hard drive within the server that hosts RecipeRadar; a spare drive from our stock was used to replace this, and the service was briefly hosted from two servers in parallel during a systems maintenance window to reinstall an operating system on the replacement drive.
