COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

PEACE INCLUSION CIC

Company Number: 15177587 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 September 2024

Company activities and impact

During our first financial year, Peace Inclusion did not generate any income and was operated entirely on a voluntary basis by its Director team. Despite the absence of paid staff and financial resources, significant groundwork was laid to benefit the community. Community Support & Outreach: Directors gave their time freely to establish the organisation, deliver advice, and build relationships with local schools, workplaces, and faith institutions. This included responding to requests for guidance, offering consultancy support, and engaging in discussions on inclusion and community cohesion. Raising Awareness: A website was designed and launched by volunteer directors, creating a dedicated platform for sharing resources, information, and updates. This has provided a visible and accessible presence for communities and partners who wish to engage with Peace Inclusion. Foundational Work: The first year was about creating the foundations for sustainable community benefit. This included drafting service models (such as mosque visits, Islamophobia training, and advisory services), connecting with stakeholders, and positioning Peace Inclusion to deliver impactful programmes in subsequent years. In short, while there was no financial activity in the first year, the voluntary contributions of the Directors ensured that Peace Inclusion began making a difference from its inception. The work undertaken has set the stage for delivering measurable outcomes and wider benefits to the community in the years ahead.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders are members of the local Muslim community, schools and educational institutions, workplaces, and partner organisations in Gloucestershire and beyond. As Peace Inclusion’s directors have each worked for many years in grassroots community and educational settings, the initial service model was shaped by their experience of listening to schools, families, and organisations express their needs around inclusion, training, and community engagement. In our first year, stakeholders were consulted informally through conversations with school leaders, community members, and professional organisations. For example, discussions with local schools highlighted the lack of accessible, curriculum-aligned mosque visit resources, while workplace consultations confirmed a need for Islamophobia awareness training that was both professional and culturally sensitive. Feedback from community partners such as Gloucester Rugby and JISC also helped us identify where advisory services could make the greatest impact. In response to this feedback, Peace Inclusion has prioritised three key areas for development: - designing curriculum-linked mosque visit programmes, Now Complete - developing Islamophobia training for workplaces, and - producing accessible educational resources for schools and governors. This consultation has ensured that our activities remain closely aligned to the needs of those we serve, and that future services will be both practical and effective for our stakeholders.
