Company activities and impact

Pristine Youth CIC is a London-based Community Interest Company dedicated to improving opportunities for young people aged 8–25, with a particular focus on those from disadvantaged backgrounds across South East London, including Lewisham and Greenwich. Between July 2023 and July 2024, our activities made measurable contributions to local communities in the following ways: - We continued to deliver our weekly Thursday youth club at Parkside Community Centre (SE10), providing a safe, structured space for young people to engage in creative workshops, group discussions and physical activities. These sessions supported emotional wellbeing, built peer relationships, and offered a positive alternative to street-based activity. - We officially registered and supported 35 young people on our internal youth database, enabling us to monitor individual progression and engagement across activities. - Our flagship Young Chefs & Hospitality Programme (YCHP) ran throughout the year, with 9 participants earning Level 2 and Level 3 Food Hygiene Certifications. The programme supported several young people in accessing further training or part-time employment within London’s hospitality sector. - During school holidays, we were commissioned by Peabody Community Foundation to deliver Pristine Youth sessions, including day trips (e.g. Clip ‘n Climb), Cooking Club, and wellbeing workshops - providing enriching experiences that built confidence, creativity, and social skills. - Informal feedback from Peabody housing officers and local stakeholders suggests a visible decrease in antisocial behaviour around Parkside SE10 during our periods of programme delivery - especially during the summer and half-term holidays. - We maintained a dedicated delivery team of 2 youth workers and 4 volunteer mentors, and strengthened partnerships with local organisations to ensure continued impact despite limited resources. Though this year reflected a period of consolidation rather than expansion, the foundations we have built - through regular engagement, youth voice, and community-responsive programming - ensure that Pristine Youth CIC remains a trusted and growing presence within the Parkside estate and the wider South East London community.

Consultation with stakeholders

Pristine Youth CIC’s key stakeholders include the young people we work with, their parents and carers, local residents of the Parkside estate and surrounding areas, community partners such as schools, housing associations (particularly Peabody), local businesses, funders, and the professional youth workers and mentors who support programme delivery. We believe that meaningful stakeholder consultation is vital to ensuring our services remain inclusive, effective and reflective of the community’s evolving needs. During the reporting period from July 2023 to July 2024, we engaged with stakeholders in the following ways: - Young People: We collected regular feedback from participants through verbal check-ins, informal surveys, creative suggestion tools and reflection activities. These consultations informed key programme decisions - for instance, the introduction of Sip & Paint wellbeing sessions and group-led games came as a direct response to young people requesting spaces for self-expression and emotional release. - Parents and Carers: We engaged parents primarily during drop-off and pick-up times, via direct messages, phone calls and WhatsApp groups. Many highlighted the positive behavioural changes and increased confidence observed in their children. Based on this input, we refined our safeguarding protocols, improved information sharing, and began offering more structured progress updates at the end of each programme cycle. - Peabody and Community Partners: As our venue and commissioning partner, Peabody has played a central role in helping us shape our Parkside offer. We maintained open communication with their community officers and housing teams, who confirmed that our provision was contributing to a reduction in antisocial behaviour locally. These insights have supported our case for ongoing provision and the need for consistent, trusted adult presence in the area. - Qualified Youth Workers and Mentors: Our delivery team is composed of trained professionals with expertise in areas such as youth work, mentoring, arts, hospitality and mental health. Team members contribute feedback during internal briefings, planning meetings and end-of-project reviews. Their professional observations and reflective practice help us to continually raise the quality and impact of our services. - Volunteers and Local Residents: In addition to our professional team, we welcome the support of volunteers from the local area who assist with events and bring valuable lived experience. These residents often act as community connectors and provide informal insights into the needs of families and the wider estate. - Youth Training Participants: As part of our broader offer, Pristine Youth also deliver youth mentoring training sessions to support people entering youth work, mentoring or community-based roles. These trainees contribute fresh perspectives and are encouraged to feed into the development of future programmes. We continue to take all feedback seriously and integrate it into our planning and delivery. This has led to better structured activities, greater wellbeing support, enhanced safeguarding practices, and more accessible registration and monitoring systems. Looking ahead, we intend to develop a formalised evaluation toolkit, co-designed with our stakeholders, to further strengthen accountability and responsiveness.
