Principal activities of the company

The Director of BizReady Community Interest Company (CIC) is pleased to present the annual report for the financial year 2023-2024, highlighting the company’s achievements, impact, and financial performance. Established with the mission to support young individuals aged 14-25 in education, BizReady CIC has been dedicated to providing essential enterprise and entrepreneurial skills to empower the next generation of leaders and innovators. Mission and Objectives BizReady CIC’s primary mission is to empower young people by fostering their enterprise and entrepreneurship skills, enabling them to thrive in the workplace and, where applicable, start and scale their own businesses. We aim to equip young people with the knowledge, confidence, and skills necessary to succeed in both business and career development. In 2023-2024, our objectives included: Delivering educational workshops and events on critical business skills. Providing one-on-one support to nurture individual growth. Supporting young entrepreneurs in securing funding for their business ventures. Activities and Achievements Throughout the financial year 2023-2024, BizReady CIC has made significant strides in fulfilling its mission. The key activities undertaken during the year are as follows: Support to 35 Students: We successfully supported 35 young people through a combination of workshops, events, and personalised support. Our target audience, young individuals in education, gained exposure to practical business knowledge, real-world challenges, and entrepreneurial insights. Workshops and Training: A total of 24 workshops were delivered, covering critical subjects such as: Business Fundamentals Financial Literacy Creative Thinking Problem-Solving Presentation Skills These sessions were designed to provide participants with both foundational business knowledge and skills that are directly applicable in the workplace or in launching their own ventures. One-to-One Support: We provided over 68 hours of one-on-one support, offering personalised guidance on business planning, financial management, and other entrepreneurial challenges. This support has been crucial in helping individuals tailor their learning and development to their specific goals. Entrepreneurial Success: We are proud to report that 6 students successfully raised funding to launch their own businesses. This is a testament to the effectiveness of our programme in fostering entrepreneurship and providing practical, actionable support to budding entrepreneurs. Impact and Outcomes The impact of BizReady CIC’s programmes in 2023-2024 in its launch year has already achieved measurable outcomes for participants engaged in its services, including: Increased confidence and business acumen, with many participants demonstrating clear progression in their understanding of business fundamentals and entrepreneurship. Successful funding raised by 6 young entrepreneurs, which will support the launch and growth of their respective businesses. Positive feedback from participants, with many reporting enhanced skills in areas such as financial literacy, problem-solving, and business development. Financial Overview The financial year 2023-2024 has launched our services and is growing our reach. Our revenue was generated through payment for our services. We have been prudent in managing our finances, ensuring that funds are allocated effectively to maximise our impact. The statement of financial activities will be presented in full in the accompanying financial statements. We are pleased to report that we remain in a stable financial position and have successfully managed to operate within our budget for the year.

Company activities and impact

BizReady CIC was established with the mission to empower young individuals aged 14 to 25 (though not exclusively) who are still in education, by equipping them with essential enterprise and entrepreneurship skills. Our goal is to prepare these young people for successful careers, including the potential to launch and manage their own businesses. In the 2023-2024 financial year, BizReady CIC provided support to 35 students through a variety of workshops, events, and one-on-one guidance. Throughout the year, we delivered 24 comprehensive workshops covering key topics such as Business Fundamentals, Financial Literacy, Creative Thinking, Problem-Solving, and Presentation Skills. Additionally, we offered over 68 hours of personalised, one-to-one support to ensure tailored guidance for each student. As a result of our initiatives, 6 students successfully secured funding to support the launch of their own businesses, marking a significant achievement in their entrepreneurial journeys.
