Notes to the accounts

  1. Average number of employees

    During the year the average number of employees was 2 (2023: 3).

  2. Capital Commitments Note

    We made the decision to close our office at 93 High Street Biddulph and downsize to work from 36 Mossfield Drive Biddulph ST8 6UL from 4 Nov 2024. This was as a result of one of our major customer going into administration, which affected our Turnover and loss of WIP.

  3. Director Guarantees Note

    The director presents her report with the financial statements for the year ended 31 Dec 2024. Events Since the End of the Year - are given in the notes to the financial statements. DIRECTOR Beverley Poole held office during the whole of the period from 1 Jan 2024 to the date of this report. Robert Poole held the position of Company Secretary for the period from 1 Jan 2022 to the date of this report. This report has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies. The company is entitled to exemption from audit under Section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 for the year ended 31 December 2024. The members have not required the company to obtain an audit of its financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2024 in accordance with Section 476 of the Companies Act 2006. The director acknowledges her responsibilities for:- a) Ensuring that the company keeps accounting records which comply with Sections 386 and 387 of the Companies Act 2006 and b) Preparing financial statements which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company as at the end of each financial year and of its profit or loss for each financial year in accordance with the requirements of Section 394 and 395 and which otherwise comply with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 relating to financial statements, so far as applicable to the company. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies’ regime.

  4. Financial Commitments Note

    1. STATUTORY INFORMATION The company is a private company limited by shares, registered in England and Wales. The address of the registered office changed from 93 High Street to 36 Mossfield Drive Biddulph from 4 Nov 2024. The principal activity is Architectural services. 2. LEASING COMMITMENTS The practice now pays for 3D Modelling Software package in full annually. 3. Loan commitment: CREDITOR Annual PI Insurance costs were paid in full in Aug 2024 to avoid the additional expenditure of previous monthly credit agreement. We changed PI Insurer in Aug 2024 and were able to negotiate a better agreement. The company took out a Government bounce back loan. in May 2020 with a repayment holiday of 12 months. The loan is repayable by July 2026. Loan interest for the first 12 months of the loan was funded by the UK Government, thereafter the interest rate is 2.5% per annum and is payable by the company. 4: Staff Employed Jan to Oct 2024 = 2, Nov to Dec 2024 = 1 Our part time consultant elected to retire in April. One In house full time employee found a job with one of our competitors and left the practice in Nov 2024. Reduced Staff. This has meant that Staff numbers have reduced from 7 in 2020 to 1 in 2025. External Consultants: The practice is required to employ Professional Construction Consultants to carry out some of our projects, particularly when working for Local Authorities and NHS Trusts, paid on an Invoicing basis on Sub Consultancy Agreement. These consultants are required to carry their own PI Insurance. Financial commitments: We have tried to reduce our exposure by asking Clients to appoint Consultants direct, as work carried out by them affects our PI premiums.
