Quilombo UK delivers innovative equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) programmes, community outreach, and employability support through culturally relevant, multi-platform engagement. Our 2023–2024 activity included: 1.1. Bias & Inclusion Training (Kingston Council / RBK) - 22 in-person workshops delivered under the “Think Differently About Bias” programme. - 663 attendees (56% of RBK workforce), with a total registration of 940 staff (80%). - 871 participants played the “Diversity Game on Tour” (target: 300 – achieved 290%). - 2 filmed podcast episodes featuring RBK's Chief Executive and senior leadership. - 2,033 behaviour change pledges submitted post-training by 663 staff. 1.2. Employability Programmes (GLA Funded) - Delivered GLA-funded employability support across 2 cohorts: - Cohort 1 (2023): 159 participants - Cohort 2 (2024): 352 participants - Growth: +121% year-on-year increase in participant numbers. - 2023 outcomes: - 46% secured employment or further training within 14 weeks of programme completion. - 2024 cohort (as of August 2024): - Active pipeline includes 108 candidates in live job application processes. - 53 participants secured interviews by the end of the programme cycle. 1.3. Media & Advocacy - 6 podcasts published via YouTube and social platforms. - Topics included: debt management, refugee support, inclusive leadership. - The series achieved a combined reach of over 6,000 views (3x increase from previous year). 1.4. Student Placement (Kingston University) - 1 funded undergraduate student hosted for a 12-week paid internship.
Through all of our projects, we have worked with expert groups in the key topics. For employability, we work with the participants of our programme, our research team who understand the needs of the business
