Lifestyle Strides CIC is a community-focused organisation dedicated to promoting health and well-being through sports and recreational education, with a particular focus on midlifers and individuals at risk of lifestyle-related illnesses such as diabetes and heart disease. Our initiatives provide accessible, structured, and supportive programs that encourage physical activity, mental wellbeing, and social connection. During the financial year, we delivered a range of activities, including: Active Steps Program – A gentle Couch to 5K and strength training initiative designed for financially and health-deprived communities, helping individuals improve their fitness and confidence. Lifestyle Leap Membership – A holistic wellness platform offering expert-led guidance on exercise, nutrition, and mental wellbeing, enabling participants to sustain long-term health im-provements. Community Engagement Events – We organised free and low-cost wellbeing workshops, health awareness campaigns, and cultural wellness events to reach underrepresented groups, particularly from the South Asian and global majority communities. EmpowerHer Project – A programme supporting women impacted by domestic abuse, inte-grating physical activity and wellbeing coaching to rebuild confidence and mental resilience. Corporate Wellness Initiatives – Partnering with workplaces to offer wellness challenges, online learning modules, and in-person wellness days to promote employee health. Through these initiatives, Lifestyle Strides CIC has positively impacted the community by: Encouraging regular physical activity among individuals who may not have previously engaged in structured exercise. Providing a safe and inclusive environment for people of all fitness levels, particularly beginners and those with long-term health conditions. Supporting mental health and emotional wellbeing through structured programs that address stress, anxiety, and lifestyle change challenges. Promoting social connections by fostering a sense of belonging through group activities, online communities, and buddy systems. Our impact is reflected in the positive feedback received from participants, increased community engagement, and the successful delivery of programs that have empowered individuals to take control of their health.
Lifestyle Strides CIC, formerly Midlife Runners CIC, engages with a wide range of stakeholders who are directly impacted by our activities. Our stakeholders include Participants and Community Members Individuals who take part in our programs, including midlifers, beginner runners, people at risk of lifestyle related illnesses, and women from marginalised communities. Local Authorities and Health Organisations Including Greater Manchester Combined Authority, NHS health initiatives, and local public health teams who support our mission of improving community health. Charity and Community Partners Organisations such as the Pankhurst Trust (Empower Her), Bolton Deaf Society, and Caribbean and African Health Network (CAHN) who collaborate with us to deliver wellbeing initiatives. Corporate and Workplace Wellness Partners Businesses interested in improving employee health and wellbeing, particularly through our Lifestyle Leap Corporate Membership. Funding Bodies and Grant Providers Organisations that support our initiatives, including Sport England, National Lottery, and GMCVO, who fund and evaluate our programs. How Stakeholders Have Been Consulted We actively seek feedback from stakeholders through various consultation methods, including Surveys and Feedback Forms Participants in our programs complete pre and post program surveys to assess impact, identify challenges, and suggest improvements. Community Meetings and Focus Groups We host open discussions and virtual Q and A sessions to gather input from community members on program design and accessibility. Partnership Meetings Regular discussions with partner organisations to align on goals, share insights, and ensure our programs meet community needs. Corporate Engagement Direct conversations with workplace wellness leads and HR teams to tailor our corporate wellbeing offerings. Social Media and Online Communities Engaging with participants through our online platforms, Facebook groups, and LinkedIn community to understand their evolving needs. Actions Taken in Response to Feedback Based on stakeholder input, we have made several improvements and adjustments, including Adapting Our Gentle C25K Program Based on feedback from older beginners and those with health concerns, we introduced a heart rate based running approach to make it more accessible. Enhancing Community Support We expanded peer support features within our online platform, allowing members to connect for motivation and accountability. Introducing Flexible Program Options In response to corporate feedback, we developed hybrid wellness models, allowing employees to participate in both in person and online wellbeing activities. Tailoring Our Empower Her Program Following input from domestic abuse survivors, we incorporated gentle movement and stress management techniques to improve accessibility. Expanding Multicultural Wellness Initiatives Based on feedback from CAHN and South Asian participants, we integrated culturally inclusive wellness approaches, such as traditional movement practices and mindful eating workshops. Through ongoing consultation, we ensure that our activities remain relevant, impactful, and accessible, aligning with the needs of the communities we serve.
