The communities of Blofield and Brundall reside in two rural villages 5 miles from the centre of Norwich just of the A47. As with many Norfolk villages the need to for community provision is often overlooked. It is our intention to work with but not exclusively with Those individuals who wish to exercise but are limited by long term medical condition management. Those who wish to address poor lifestyle and wish to gain knowledge in how to improve health, wellness and fitness. Those recovering from sports injury or in need of NHS further rehabilitation. Working closely with local community groups and Blofield/Brundall surgeries we wish to explore a preventative healthcare model. Building partnerships with other like-minded community groups and organisations offering the centre as a drop in site. Development of wellness centre Currently there is very little provision of sports and fitness within the local area. Those who wish to use a gym have to travel to nearby Norwich or Acle. This will offer the local community a place to exercise and will work with local groups in improving health, wellness and fitness in the local communities. Engage with local health services We are already in discussion with Broadland District Council, MIND, Diabetes UK, Norfolk and Suffolk NHS, Local GP surgeries about creating links to support specialised exercises and lifestyle management schemes. They are unable to fund a Ltd company application and therefore we wish to develop a CIC to make this possible. Development of services Broom Boating The proposed site is owned by Broom Boating. They are currently redeveloping the site for holiday, leisure, and recreational purposes. The CIC will be integral in offering staff of Broom a lifestyle management intervention which will aim to reduce ill health and promote wellness at work. This will enrich the benefits offered to those working in a manual labour environment.
