Cast A Thought support the mental health and wellbeing of children, young people and adults through fishing activities. The CIC started in November 2022 delivering a few commuinity events. Since this time the organisation has grown and currently delivers the following programmes: Fish and Chat - fishing sessions supporting adults who have mental health or long term health conditions, or those who are socially isolated. These sessions include 3hrs fishing, followed by 1hr of social time and refreshments to help foster friendships. Donations from members of the public mean that we can gift equipment to participants to continue fishing after the sessions. Holiday Activities and Food programme providing those young people on free school meals with fishing activities and a hot meal during the Easter, Summer and half term holidays. Fish Fest - a diversionary programme in partnership with Kent Police to provide positive activities for young people at risk of anti-social behaviour and other risky behaviours. Get Fishing programme - introducing families to fishing to enjoy learning together but more importantly shared interests and a means of connection. In 2023-2024 the organisation worked with 497 young people and 145 adults
