COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

TALK TOGETHER MEDIA AND EVENTS CIC

Company Number: 14428680 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 October 2024

Company activities and impact

During this financial year the CIC has continued to provide employment to a small but talented group of young people, who have significant barriers to work. This covers child care, health and mental health challenges, where the CIC has been able to accomodate and encourage performance in the job roles. The creative impact of the CIC has been fantastic and not only are media skills being deployed and craft being increased, this has resulted in local businesses whom advertise in the communuity magazines seeing uplifts in enquiries and trade as a result of appearing in them. Costs for this service have been kept low to encourage the local economy and the girls have learned valuable skills from other local magazines who operate for profit and from trade organisations like MagManager and National organisation like MagWorld who bring together people across the UK with Community Magazine help and resources. The CIC has also truied to branch in to event planning and organised the community gala, which while a success, had significant issues with wind, which meant 50% of the Gala could not be put on due to health and safety. We contuinue to promote cross charity and organisation working and will refocus on delivering magazines to even more homes, free of charge as the CIC grows and develops. The articles being put into the magazines are also targetted to the Census for our Wards in the City of Doncaster and this allows soft recognition of community issues that then allows critical information to be distributed. For example how to manage alcohol intake a parenting advice.

Consultation with stakeholders

We undertake regular calls and email with stakeholders, particularly as we deliver magazine advert and design. Our community also regularly proviode community updates and we are then able to focus the team at the CIC on delivering information and material that is looked forward to by our residents. This has also included a healthly debate ion religion and activities within the community, particulary as all our local churhes provide updates and feedback. Feedback relating to timing of information and the lag between deliveries has resulted in us being able to streamline data collection to distribute community informationn more quickly or focussed in particular areas.
