This year, Lavender Hope has continued to make a meaningful difference in the community through various initiatives and activities: Weekly Church Gatherings - We hold church services every Sunday, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Support for Asylum Seekers - We provided a welcoming space for asylum seekers to gather, cook meals, and integrate with the wider community, helping them feel at home. Food Bank Development - Our food bank has been growing throughout the year, allowing us to support more families in need. Community Activities - Regular yoga classes and our art group continue to provide a space for relaxation, creativity, and wellbeing. Annual BBQ - Our annual BBQ event has been a highlight, with increasing attendance and engagement each year. Youth Program Expansion - Our Brownies group is expanding to include Guides, providing more opportunities for youth development. Mental Health Support - We are launching a mental health support group in January, aiming to provide a safe space for those seeking community and guidance. Book Club - We have introduced a book club to encourage reading and discussion, fostering learning and social connection within the community. NHS Diabetes Group - We are hosting an NHS diabetes group, providing essential support and resources for individuals managing diabetes. These activities reflect our commitment to community cohesion, wellbeing, and support for vulnerable groups.
Lavender Hope's stakeholders include the local TRA (Tenants and Residents Association), external organisations that utilise the community centre, and local community members. The TRA has become defunct but is hopefully restarting soon. We have ongoing consultations with external organisations and local people to gather feedback and ensure our services are meeting community needs. Feedback from these consultations has been instrumental in expanding our programs, such as the youth activities and mental health support group
