Company activities and impact

St Albans Nursery CIC is a small Nursery in a local community. It is a day care facility operating since 1996 and is committed to addressing issues of poverty and disadvantage in the area in which we work by the provision of high quality and affordable childcare and our ethos will remain constant as we aim to expand our facilities. The provision of the facility has provided the added value of parents improving the quality of life for them and their families through the opportunity to develop skills for employment and gain further education qualifications .This added value would not have been possible without the provision of Little Learners services and facilities. We have also provided parents/carers with a work based placement in this nursery so that if they wanted to do a childcare course we would offer them a placement here as a volunteer as part of their qualification. At this time we employ 11 staff that are local residents and some of their children have also attended this nursery in the past. St Albans Little Learners operates to benefit the community and adhere to the social principles and aims of the business which is reflected in the Community Interest Company Status. We will operate a policy of equal opportunities for all in terms of staffing and young people and providing affordable services to disadvantaged families.
