The Group was incorporated on 15 December 2023 as a Community Interest Company with the aim of providing physical well-being activities to women who are isolated and in need of socialising with women of similar interests and needs. There are nine Committee members that run the Group, holding formal management meetings quarterly and monthly to organise the Lunch Club events. A bank account is operated and managed by the Committee with transparent record of funds received and expended reconciling to the bank balance. It started as a small group and has grown to a successful membership of 78 members. An annual fee is payable to be a Member of Khushi South Asian Women Group in January. There is a monthly Lunch Club which gives members an opportunity to take part in useful financial and health related workshops, light exercises, enjoy social and cultural events and day trips, taste variety of cuisines and chance to socialise with friends. We received a grant from Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council in April 2024 to help towards the cost of running a monthly lunch club. In addition to this, Khushi also received a grant in December 2023 to host workshops on the Better Mental Health Strategy in Sandwell. Our aim is to grow the Group membership to meet the needs of women in the wider community by applying for grants and receiving donations from sources available.
