COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

NET GAIN COMMUNITIES CIC

Company Number: 14558210 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 December 2024

Company activities and impact

Net Gain CIC promotes community wellbeing and inclusion through tennis, using the sport as a tool to build confidence, improve health, and create social connections. This is delivered via free and low-cost coaching sessions, school programmes, and community initiatives that remove barriers to participation. The work benefits children, young people, and adults of all ages and backgrounds, particularly those from disadvantaged communities. Opportunities have included funded tennis courses, provision of free equipment, and apprenticeships that support young people into sustainable employment.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our primary stakeholders are the children, young people, and families who directly benefit from our programmes. Many come from disadvantaged backgrounds, including those in receipt of free school meals, and would not otherwise have access to affordable, high-quality tennis opportunities. We also work with adults seeking inclusive sport in later life, LGBTQ+ players, and individuals with disabilities. By providing free or low-cost coaching, equipment, and safe community spaces, we ensure tennis is accessible to groups that have historically been excluded. Alongside participants, our key partners include local schools, tennis clubs, and governing bodies such as the Lawn Tennis Association and Kent Tennis, who support us with training, resources, and pathways for progression. Funders such as the TASSO Foundation, Kent County Council, and RMG Associates are also central stakeholders, enabling us to remove barriers to participation through grants and targeted initiatives. Local councils, community groups, and media partners further strengthen our impact by helping us reach new audiences, share success stories, and sustain long-term community engagement.
