During the financial year, with initial funding from Social Enterprise Kent, we successfully established our business, including the development of a professional website and promotional materials. This funding also enabled us to conduct in-depth, on-the-ground research to shape our services from the ground up, ensuring they directly address the needs of new parents in the community. With further support from Kent County Council, we have delivered a series of workshops and educational groups focused on perinatal mental health. These sessions have been well-attended by new mums in the community and received excellent feedback, highlighting their positive impact on participants' wellbeing and confidence. In addition to group work, Mary has provided one-to-one home visits for new mums, offering practical advice, emotional support, and reassurance during the early weeks of parenthood. Our work has aimed to reduce isolation, promote emotional wellbeing, and help parents feel more confident and supported during a significant life transition. Through all of these activities, we have worked to create a supportive, informed, and accessible service that meets the real needs of families in our community.
Our primary stakeholders are parents in the local community, particularly those who are pregnant or have recently had a baby. We have made it a priority to engage directly with them to ensure our services are relevant, accessible, and genuinely supportive of their mental health and wellbeing. To consult with stakeholders, we attended local parenting support groups where we spoke directly with parents about their needs, concerns, and preferences. We asked what kind of support would be most helpful for their mental health and what would encourage them to attend groups or workshops. Additionally, all participants in our perinatal mental health groups were invited to complete feedback questionnaires. These asked about their experience of the sessions, what they found helpful, and what further support they would like to see offered.
The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £4,661. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
