Nines Health & Fitness Club CIC was established to improve the health, fitness, and overall well-being of the local community, with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusion. Since opening in August 2024, the organisation has delivered regular walking clubs and community health activities which have had a significant positive impact during the financial year 2024–2025. The walking club has supported the local community in multiple ways: Physical health: Members have reported improved mobility, stamina, and cardiovascular fitness, alongside reductions in high blood pressure and cholesterol. Mental health and well-being: The sessions provide a safe, supportive space that reduces stress and anxiety, enhances mood, and promotes resilience. Social inclusion: The group brings together people of different ages and backgrounds, helping to tackle loneliness, build friendships, and strengthen community ties. Healthy lifestyle choices: Members are encouraged to adopt healthier eating habits, stay active outside of sessions, and maintain long-term positive lifestyle changes. By promoting the principle that “ movement is medicine" the club has empowered residents to take control of their health, created a sense of belonging, and contributed to a healthier, environmentally conscious and helped to reduced carbon footprints in Brent.
